I recently acquired a Sauer 90 Cal 300Wby Mag which made it the 6th Sauer in my hunting rifle collection. All other Sauers I managed to get down to 1/2 Moa with pet loads, even the 375H&H with a light weight barrel. The 300Wby hovers around the MOA at 100m with some/few hand loads HOWEVER I...

Has anyone hunted with Nosler Custom Competition bullets? How do they expand? Want to avoid situations where the bullets don't expand (like one sometimes gets with the Smk).

In Namibia - hunting paradise North West of South Africa. Bullets - probably Amax, Nosler Bt or SMK 150-155gr. 5 round groups at 1/2 inch I would be happy with. Powder - South African manufactured Somchem Powder (unfortunately we don't get the USA or European powders here)

Lothar Walther Twist is 330mm = 1:33cm / 2.54= 1:13" if my math is right. Apparently made for the 155gr Palma match bullets? Local dealer (a good friend) swears by them and mentioned that he has sold over a 100 of these barrels and hasn't had a single complaint. He would not bs me...

No argument that the SMK will kill. In fact i used them on a cull hunt or two and dropped a good 50-100 buck with it (out of a 7mm Rem). On 3 occasions however they ran through the buck like solids without expanding. Double lung and i had to use the dogs to get the wounded animals. 2 of the 3...
