If you're in Europe you can take them directly to Biebertal, that's what we do, it's a little over a 2 hour drive up from Stuttgart. Great guys at the service desk and most of the time they will give you a 2-3 hour turn around. The only problem is that we've had to take several up to them in too...
wapiti16B, You can search and also go back 3-5 pages and read several threads on IOR scopes. Beware of the posts that bash them without ever owning them or possibly owning one from years ago. You'll also read from a couple of the retailers that have positive remarks, call a few. I've used...
I have that Savage model and it's one of my most accurate personal rifles. After a couple different high end rails and rings I settled on IOR. The rail is one of the lowest profile manufactured and the rings are matched, using low. What you will need to do is make (or purchase) a kydex cheek...
Read some reviews on the SPS and LRTs, the SPS will probably need stock work as the barrel touches stock on way to many of them...if you have a suppressor, it's ready for one. The LRTs have had their own problems over the last several years. Personally I'd look at a Savage TR LE or a 10FCP model.
We changed out from using the S&Bs to the IOR 4-28x50 40mm RECON (on our big guns) two years ago and they have been outstanding. The four bolt rifles we are taking to Sochi to use on over watch are IORs. Our lite guns wear Elcan's.
It's so funny listening to 5 Jump Chumps, parading around like yardbirds doing the chicken walk. Reminds me so much of the Texas saying "The funny thing about that little white speck on the top of chicken shit...that little white speck is chicken shit too.
wrongside, Responded to your PM, you can place it in here if you want, allot of folks seem to reference IOR's of 12 or more years ago. I can remember when NF and S&B's would go belly up all the time! I'm about to head back to my unit after some wonderful weeks at home and in leaving here for a...
Things to remember about parallax; Parallax (on a rifle scope) is a correction, not a focusing feature. -Most all long range scopes (older or new fixed and lower adj.mag.) were set to be parallax free at 100 yards. -Newer high magnification scopes require more optical adjustment, especially from...
Personally I don't care what brand I have or use if I stick one on a rifle. I've seen every brand break apart in field situations and none of them stand out over another. Give me a ruck, a rock or a piece of furniture and I'm happy.
wrongside, The more you use that scope the more you will love it. My unit has 4 of them on larger caliber rifles, they replaced the S&B 5-25x56 PM II/LP we had been using and the 4-28x50 40mm RECONs have astounded us for 2 years now.
KUSA, I asked what your experience was using IOR scopes. When I get a chance to post here, usually like now, when I'm home on leave, I only do so with the thoughts of helping someone who does not get the chance to use and abuse allot of scopes, rifles, etc. My thoughts and conclusions with IOR...
How many have you used for a length of time? I certainly am not going to go by one (or a few) persons opinion and findings with one scope. I've used several IOR scopes numerous and lengthy times in Afghanistan and countries in North Africa they are very rugged and have held up fine for two...
