Rifle Scopes Ring heights question - gun not available for calculation of height

I went with medium height rings originally on my Savage mod 10FP. I'm not sure if the low rings will work with the large objective. I was in your position, and did not want to wait, so opted for the medium rings, just in case the low rings did not offer enough clearance.

    Gunsmithing Feeding Issues

Re: Feeding Issues Thanks DaveD. I have tried that already and have smoothed out the inside edges of the feed lips. I guess I'm still wondering, how do I know if I have to open up or close the feed lips? What condition indicates widening vs. narrowing? My first instinct is to open up the...

    Gunsmithing Feeding Issues

Can anyone tell me how to tune my AICS mags to feed more consistently? I get this weird hang up, like the round pops up to soon or something as I'm trying to chamber it. I have to then take a little pressure off the bolt and then it free's itself and I can put it home. Am I going to slow on...

Rifle Scopes LMAO!!!! Sightron as good as NF.

Re: LMAO!!!! Sightron as good as NF. Until someone actually compares light transmission of each scope with actual optical instrumentation, comparing glass is fruitless, unless of course you compare low end to high end, the human eye can only discern so much, so comparing high end glass only...

    Rifle Scopes Bushnell v. Vortex v. ??

Re: Bushnell v. Vortex v. ?? I was always a Bushnell fan until i found my Elite 4200 was shooting 1-3 moa off on windage from zero to right and left. Not an issue really at 100 yards, but at distance it was. Bushnell makes outstanding glass, maybe I had a wonky scope, but I think I would...

Rifle Scopes Vortex Viper HS LR optics.......need some input

Re: Vortex Viper HS LR optics.......need some input I have shot them. Very nice, beefy, well made, excellent glass. I know some people that swear by Leupold and Nightforce for their personal guns, and those they build for clients, and they are considering offering Vortex as an option now...
