Re: mcgowen nightmare well guys i finally got it in and its not bad. but not really worth the wait. i hope they sort themselves out. the barrel came out good with no problems but 8 months total of waiting for it just was way too much. if they sort themselves out i might think about using them...
with savage target actions can you order those in whatever caliber you want? im looking to get an action for a 338 rum and i didnt know if they would have that calibre or not.
im getting ready for a 14 day trip into alaska and im building a new ruger 10/22 with the polymer trigger assembly and synthetic stock for a varmint gun im replacing the mag release with a metal one but beyond that im a little stuck on what i might do next.im not worried about accuracy or optics...
so i keep reading that vlds are tricky to zero in. how tricky are we talkin here? and what kind of a drop in moa can you expect to believably get? and also can they be tuned to any rifle or are they kind of finnicky?

so check this out. in march i order a mcgowen rifle barrel. a 30" stainless bull barrel in 7mm rem mag. it takes two months to come in and when it does the treads are for a large receiver. so i send it back. two weeks go by with no word so i call em only to find out that they lost my barrel. but...
