Dont know about OP, but my AR10 comes in right at 7lbs without an optic, around 8.5 with my Weaver tactical 2-10x36 scope installed. They can be made pretty light nowadays.

Also, i believe, there are instructions on hornady's website on how to fine tune the speed on the auto charge to make it more accurate, i have done so on mine and haven't had any problems overcharging since, its usually done dispensing in the time it takes me to seat a bullet.
If you can run AICS mags, maybe look at Alpha 300WSM mags, whats the OAL on the Accurate mags? if its close to 2.950" you should be able to run the heavies, I load my 208gr. AMAX and 230gr. Berger Hybrids to 2.965" in my Alpha mags and they feed fine and shoot great.
For Savage rifles, where barrels can be changed by the user without the need for a smith, a long action may be preferred, since you can switch between most any cartridge except for the really large magnums. I have my long action 110 that i interchange between 243 and 284, and I'm looking around...
