Re: Has anyone used BLC2 for .308? I havnt shot the new BLC2 but was givin 6 or so lbs of the older Type'C' ball powder. lol Its from what I read close to H335. With the 168gr smk's 42.5grs seems to be best. Not to jam up your thread but ive noticed that above 75f it just doesnt work worth a...
Re: 69 gr. Nosler BTHP vs. 69 gr. SMK Ive interchanged the 69grs, along with the 52gr bthp's. No diff that I can tell. Same with the 168 and 175gr custom comps. They shoot the same as the SMK for me and there usually cheaper. Just my opinion.
Re: Clean bore to fouled bore.. In my experiences it takes five to ten shot to get back on track. If it took a hundred i'd never clean the gun again! 1200+ rounds down and cleaned it 6 times.
Re: Recommendations on quality .223 bolt gun c1steve, Dont be afraid to go with the Tikka T-3. My lite blued model with a chopped 16" bbl will shoot circles around guns 3 times its cost. I can only imagine how the t-3 varmint would shoot if you wanted a heavier gun!
Re: Tikka T3 Varmint I bought my T-3 Varmint .308 win about a year and a half ago. 1100 plus rounds throu it and it still amazes me! An $800 rifle out of the box that you just adjust the trigger and go work sum loads up that will consistanly shoot 1/2 moa is a winner in my book! 125gr to...
Re: What is your favorite powder for 308? Ive tried to fall in love with Varget but RL-15 still seems to amaze me. I dont spend much time with a crony but when you can shoot 1/2 to sub 1/2 moa anytime you go out why try to track that Varget down. The tac is pretty good also. In my .308 it...
Re: Starting Loads The stock may matter. How long can you load your cartrige? Find a length thats the longest without being to the point the bullets not in far enough. Then chamber the dummy round and see if it hits the lands. If not then load 42.5, 43.0, 43.5 and a 44grs test groups. Look...
Re: M118LR Powder I've heard 44grs of RL-15 is the load. To get that in Varget you'll have to take into concideration case weight and primers(good luck finding GGM primers)! Just load up throu and see what yours likes.
Re: 308 Sierra 135 SMK, anyone load em NukeMMC, The load im using is a 125gr Nosler BT. Ive heard the matchkings just blow right through, course with a dog who cares what they do as long as they drop!
