    Shilen or Lilja 10/22 barrel

Re: Shilen or Lilja 10/22 barrel My vote is the Shilen. I put one on my 10/22 12 years ago and it still shoots one hole groups today @50yds with Eley 10X. Year after year the gun keeps amazing me. I think you can purchase the barrel direct from Shilen. http://www.shilen.com/rugerBarrels.html

    308 load, rem700 5r mil spec, tumbling

Re: 308 load, rem700 5r mil spec, tumbling I am going out on a limb and assuming you are shooting to 1000 yds? If so the 175 SMK ahead of 45 grains of Varget should get you there. The 155 grain will also get there. The 168's only good to about 800 yards. I am sure others will chime in.

Fieldcraft Covering your muzzle in the field

Re: Covering your muzzle in the field I have used a little piece of plastic bag held in place by a rubber band. You can shoot it and reposition the bag to get several uses out of the same piece. Of course you must use the tactical dark green lawn and leaf bags.

    Factory .50 ammo questions.

Re: Factory .50 ammo questions. For what it is worth, I have used Hunting shack 750 grain A-Max rounds in my State Arms .50 and it shoots very good! Has put 3 rounds in one ragged hole @ 200 yds many times. The rifle specs are close to yours. Custom Lothar Walther 36" bull barrel ( 1-15"...
