Xcount is right. Use the allen wrenches to adjust the up and down at 100 yrds, same with windage. Use the other spanner to adjust parallax at 300 yrds. It's really not that complicated at all.
If you have an X min rifle with a scope then you should have an X minute rifle with irons. I see to shoot service rifle comps and found it quite hard to make the change. Getting the radar sight and the front sight lined up exactly the same every time takes reps. Concentrating on the front sight...
I too am getting near the end of my build. Does anyone know if the Rem actions are the typical blued Rem finish or do they have an alternate coating on them? At the end of the day, whether you build or have built, it's a labor of love and the time is worth it.
Look hard at the eliseo. His whole system is patterned after an ar, in my opinion. Your trigger hand won’t know the difference. Comb may feel a little different as it may not be as thin as the ar, but I think you can work past that. I really like the ones I’ve shot at high power matches.
An engineering materials testing lab should probably be able to help you out. I agree, though, it's going to be several pennies per test. In addition, you'd probably need to test the receiver and various pieces of the bolt.
Does anyone know what the donut is, or does, on the Mod 3 barrel? The notches for the Mk11 can are in front of the donut, so it doesn't look like it's necessary for indexing the can. Is it part of the barrel or is it something attached to the barrel? It almost looks like a Mk11 gas block was...
In the process of building a 300 win mag. Got a little aggressive cutting the tenon. I over cut the tenon by 0.009 inches on the recoil lug and 0.006 inches on the major diameter of the action. Needless to say, I'm at a loose fit right now all the way around. Am I safe to continue and cut...
Re: 1903A3 Not Feeding Correctly As far as I can tell, it doesn't have any modifications. It's a Remington action and I'm not sure about the barrel. All of the other parts on it are Remington. I bought it from the Gibbs Rifle Company. It came to me, from them, in a plastic stock, and I...
I've got a Remington '03A3 that isn't feeding worth a crap from the magazine. Each round gets caught on the shoulder before it enters the chamber itself. I have to load each round, singly. The bolt catches the round when going forward and strips it from the magazine. As I push the round...
Re: South Texas sun...and foundations... Unfortunately, Texas has some of the worst shrink/swell soils in the nation. If your slab is post-tensions, or REALLY think, you are in a better place than most. If you are super lucky, your home building actually drilled some piers for you that are...
Re: Advice from San Antonio residents I was born and raised in SA and would go back in a heartbeat. It is a big city with little city charm. I grew up on the NW side of town, which has the best school districts in the City. I would say that anywhere between SH 151 to I35, west of Loop 1604...
Got an M1A with a Gen 3 scope mount on it that I am trying to get off. It is going to be replaced by a Sadlak or GDI in the near future. Is there a set screw that keeps that dove tailed piece mounted to the receiver? If so, what size of allen wrench or other tool do I need to get it out...
