Not trying to be a jerk, but from the OP picture it looks like the crush washer is completely crushed so that the flash hider can't be turned anymore. With crush washers your only supposed to turn your muzzle device on until you have resistance and it's indexed, not keep turning till you can't...

Re: reaming a 6.5x47 to 6.5 creedmoor It can be done. but you will loose a little length, no more than .500 of an inch at max I would think. This would be leaving room to head space properly and a little for that just in case you need it. Some might disagree, just my $0.02. Hope this helps...

Re: Thread 260 Remington 1/2-28? When I was in gunsmithing school at Murray State College, the rule of thumb was .200 of an inch from the diameter of the bore to the outside of the barrel. Hope this helps.

Re: Barrel shortening question. Think of it this way. The US Army fires 224 dia, 62gr bullet over 3000 ft per second through a 14.5 inch barrel with a 1:7 twist, at targets to and beyond 300 meters. But it does depend on your twist rate. Imho, I think you will be ok with 18". If your not sure...
