Just got the bore scoped, it’s definitely the barrel. My gun smith said it had these rings the full length of the barrel, and these pics were taken about 2” apart. It’s comical, really.
An update for anyone still interested: Got a badger ordinance base. I bedded the base to the action, torqued it to spec. Torqued rings to scope to spec, and rings to base to spec. Took off the bipod and shot from sand bags in a very stable position. I had groups ranging from 1” to 6.5”, with no...
I bought the one for the Savage 110, Long action, Accutrigger model. The only other one that may fit would be the "Lapua only" or the 110 BA stealth maybe. Curios if anyone else has switched out the EGW Rail or just stuck with it.
The above is my receiver, and the other images are of the EGW rail that came with it, and the badger ordinance rail that is supposed to fit. As you can see, the badger rail has a recoil lug, but the design of the action doesn’t have a gap above the ejection port. So the recoil lug won’t allow...
does anyone know what scope base this or the 110 precision takes? I got the badger ordinance for a 110 long action with accutrigger and it doesn’t have the same size screws and the recoil lug is in the way. I wanted something a bit more sturdy than the rail that came with it.
Took the scope and rings off and found that the base was only hand tight, no threadlocker, and the front screw head was stripped. I ordered a badger ordinance base, so I'll see if that fixes the issue
I got a Savage 110 Precision in 300 PRC a couple weeks ago. The scope base was not threadlocked, the back 3 screws were hand tight, the front screw was over torqued and the hex head stripped. You'd think they would assign someone other than a 4 year old to do QC . . . Anyone else have this...
I will do this. The reason I asked about the rings was that someone on another forum said ditch the "budget" rings. I have only heard good things about them so that's why I went with them. I'm down to get more expensive rings, but didn't know if it was necessary. Either way, I'm going to send...
Just got a new savage 110 Precision in 300 PRC, with Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25, and Mark 4 rings. Assembled it a few days ago and torqued the rings to the base to spec, and the scope things themselves to spec per Leupold's torque sequence. I noticed when I took the scope out of the box, I turned...
