Not the first time won’t be the last. We lose 3 or 4 a year at my airline to things like this. Not at the controls but we have found pilots slumped over in their rooms and various other ways. It sounds stupid to say but the toll the job takes can be severe. Your circadian cycles are completely fucked causing all kinds of brain and heart issues.
