Which 2 Stage Trigger for my GA-Precision Hospitaller with Templar V-II Action?

I have a GA-Precision Hospitaller in 308 caliber with the Templar V-II Action that I would like to find a High Quality 2 Stage Match Trigger to replace the Single Stage Trigger. The Single Stage Trigger in it now is way too light and I actually prefer the 2 Stage model.

Its been a real long time since I owned a Bolt Action GAP Rifle and I can't remember the 2 Stage Trigger that I swapped in my old Crusader? I think it was a Huber 2 Stage Trigger but not 100% sure?

Which 2 Stage Trigger would be Best for my GAP Hospitaller? And do they consider the Templar V-II Action the same as a Remington 700 Action?

    Thanks for your help.

Yeah, the two top would be from either Trigger Tech ( the Diamond) or from Bix’n Andi (TacSport Pro X). The TT gives a precise trigger pull and agjustments to pull weight. The BnA gives you addition adjustments in length of trigger movement and over travel as well as sear engagement. TT probably has the most shooters but BnA is very popular. I switched to BnA as I like a bit of trigger travel to aid follow through, it just feels more alive. The TT I perfect trigger if you want a Perfect trigger break with no over travel.

Yes, your action is essentially considered an R700 when you buy a trigger. Any trigger designed for an R700 should theoretically fit.

A popular 2 stage is the Trigger Tech. The 2 stage Special would likely work for you. You can adjust stage pull weights, the breaks are crisp. There is no over travel (preference - I like over travel, others here don't). The OEM trigger blade is pretty wide, and I don't think you can change it. Sear engagement is what it is - if it's too much, you need to get your trigger "timed".

If you like to tinker, I prefer the BnA TacSport. You can not only adjust the pull weights of each stage, but I believe the travel of the stages, along with the amount of sear engagement. It does have over travel (trigger still moves slightly after it breaks), which I prefer. You can also change out the trigger blade for a variety of different options from BnA, but I happen to like the stock thin curved one. You can really dial this trigger in to feel and function like you want, but you have to be okay with some tinkering.

These are the two main ones you'll find recommended here, and this is my brief synopsis of them.

Thanks guys for all of the input, I really appreciate it. I think I like the Trigger Tech Diamond 2 Stage Trigger but it looks like they will not be available until September, same with the TT Special version.

I will do more research or look for a used TT Diamond that may pop up on the board.

    OTM Tactical has some: https://shop.otmtactical.com/triggertech-special-r70-sbs-13-tnc.html

    So does EuroOptic: https://www.eurooptic.com/triggertech

Bugholes (though they aren't clear on which ones are 2 stage): https://www.bugholes.com/TriggerTech-triggers-for-sale-s/1825.htm

    Mile High Shooting: https://www.milehighshooting.com/search-results-page?q=trigger tech

    TS Customs:

And I'm sure there's more out there too...

I like this one from EuroOptics and for $270 the price is Right.
Now it says Rem 700 Clone Flat Clean whatever that means??? Will this one work in my Hospitaller? I like the Flat Trigger as well.

    That should work.

Flat is the trigger shoe shape. I'm not exactly sure what the "clean" means.

    But you should be GTG.

So I'll be the fly in the ointment. Have four Huber Concepts 2 stage, 1.5 lb total pull (TP), about 50/50 pull each stage. First custom barreled action (Defiance Deviant) had a Huber set at 2.25 lb TP - as I got used to it, sent it in to John to re-set it to 1.5 TP. Now have four Huber triggers with the same 1.5 lb TP - will not use anything else. Yes, long travel to the second stage (about 1/4"), but breaking the 2nd stage wall is soooo consistent and clean. No surprises.

Experimented with a BnA Tac Pro on my next barreled action (Kelbly Atlas Tactical). Could not get it to reliably engage trigger, intermittent at best, had to tap on the action to engage. Not good. Spent way too much time playing with sear depth adjustments etc. Even sent it back to Bullet Central to look at it. Came back - still no bueno on that action. Bought another Huber for that action - works perfect. The BnA does reside on another Kelbly action and has worked reliably - but still there is that doubt.

Probably apples and oranges comparison, but I have a 2 stage Trigger Tech on an AR10 - 6.5 Creed platform. Performs well, but the first stage travel is small ... much like a clean (non gritty) but creepy one stager. But consistent and has a clean break. So no complaints. Just need to know what to expect when yanking the trigger.

Since I found my "happy space" with the Huber travel and pull weight, I don't really need to fool around with the adjustments that BnA has. The triggers mentioned above, generally are good. I think just a matter of what eventually works for you.

agreed, each person looks for different things. I was happy ish with the Trigger Tech for a few years, I tried a Huber, I just could never get it to work the way I wanted. Tried a couple of others , stayed with TT until I found the ProX, semi love at first pull.
It all comes down to what your want the trigger to act like.

I've been just "ish" with TTs They do OK, but that's about it. I'm running two of them right now, but every time I go out with them, I wish they were something better. But then, I've been spoiled by my Bix Competitions - though at >$500 a pop, they are pricey.

Has Geissele reintroduced their Super 700 (or equivalent) yet? That's still my favorite two-stage.
