Tikka T3 Thread

Does anyone have a 223 CTR or Varmint with a 24" barrel that can comment what velocity can be achieved with 70-90gr projectiles?
And can comment what the heaviest projectile they can run in the 8t barrel, I'm guessing 80.5gr Bergers are the best bet?

Was planning to rebarrel my Tikka but might just buy a 24" factory rifle.
I have a Varmint that I had threaded for a suppressor. 75gr ELDM at 2.49" (AICS mags) with NAMMO 5.56 brass and H4895, 3025 fps.

Have you tried any heavier bullets or just the 75s?

Just the 75 ELDM. I have a bunch of 77 TMK (thanks, Rokslide) but the 75 shoots so well I haven’t tried them.

80gr ELDm are hit or miss with the Tikka 8 twists from researching various forums.

This is my concern as well. I don’t see the benefit of 5 grains and slightly better BC.

It ain’t a 22-250.

I don’t believe Beretta will sell that to you.

So:
  1. either in the “take off/part out” used market (single seller in the PX, rokslide, eBay or like https://jaoutdoors.com/)
  2. Midwest Gun Works (example, NOT the one you want: https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/s1411307)
  3. or there’s a Canadian dude who makes them.

Where / Who would I contact for the availability for a replacement bolt for a T3X. I want a LH bolt with a .223 head to replace the bolt with a .308 head.
Thank you
Too bad you’re not a righty:
During a cursory search I didn’t see a left-handed model in stock. In fact, their 9.6 (.223) model for lefties seems like it has the wrong description?
