Favo Rite Sippin Whiskey

Not a whiskey drinker but my OMFS 80's residency podnah and fellow 4thDB CDR is and after perusing this thread have just ordered the 2024 Garrison Bro.'s Cowboy Bourbon for his EOS celebration.
140 proof, Dad-Gum!! Been here since 2010 and all you chuckleheads have yet to steer me wrong, hoping the trend continues. Thanks fellers!

I've been on the wagon for the last 5 months ( to lose weight 45lbs so far) but when I fall off , I'll go back to my old standby 7yr old jim beam black , hard to beat for the price , tried some horse soldier a while back , it was good but I didn't feel it was worth the premium $.

1792 Full Proof has a great flavor at a higher proof point. So is the Redbreast Cask Strength. It is everything the 12 year has but all flavors are cranked up and it's quite tasty.

Most Knob Creek store picks are pretty good too. Actually, many of the store picks for any bottle today are better than their standard counterparts as a good rule of thumb.

Tried lots of blended whiskeys over the years.
Eventually discovered single malts.
So far, Glenfiddich 21 is my favorite.
"Finished in Rum casks", (whatever that means), seems to give it a smoothness I have not found in other vintages.
I keep a glass in the freezer, pour the scotch in the chilled glass, no water or ice.
One bottle lasts me about a year.
It is crazy $$$, depending on tariffs and similar idiotic political squabbling......

For some special reason, Laphroaig 30 year old. I prefer about 3 fingers with 4 ice cubes. Let the ice melt for several minutes and give it a little swirl before sipping. I use to wonder if using ice at all, let alone allowing it to dilute that Scotch, was probably sacrilegious until I read that adding a small amount of water actually helps to release some of the flavors...and this stuff is real peaty. Too expensive to drink every day.

Every evening it's Evan Williams. Most generally I give a generous pour over ice and then add a mini can of Coca Cola. I had to set it down to type this.
