Craddock RTR

For those of you looking, I just helped Paul and Josh over at Craddock launch their new Custom RTR line this morning. You can essentially custom build your own RTR barrel. As of right now, it's just 22 cal but we plan to launch the other calibers shortly. I'm building out some of the rules and logic for the remaining calibers, so those should follow shortly.

I saw that email. It looks VERY interesting and it’ll definitely be getting some more of my money.

That Pangris 13.9 ultra-lightweight is a complete 180 vs the first one I had. I’ve been shooting it some more and now it’s shooting 3/4” groups with cheap AAC Black Tips. Those are only 3-shot groups but it’s a light barrel too so I don’t want to get it too hot when I’m measuring things. Given the price of the ammo and the weight of the barrel I’m very happy with this thing. Total opposite of the first one, it couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn and this one is a laser.

Awesome. I've also had some surprisingly good results from the black tip accuracy wise. Haven't gotten around to doing much work on pigs with it yet.

Between rain and work demands, my grand plans of a long day at the range hasn't manifested, but it will.

The group I shoot with has a lot of Grendel builds and out of about 13 of our Grendel builds, only 3 of them shoot the AAC Sabre Tipped ammo well. None of the RTR barrels like it. We have 1 Wilson Combat barrel, 1 Triarc, and oddly enough 1 Aero precision barrel that consistently shoot it under 1.5moa at 100 yards. We crono’d 100 rounds of it and the sd over that hundred rounds was about 47 fps if I remember it correctly. We’ve killed some deer, pigs, and various varmints with it under 150 yards and it performs well on meat. For killin shit fairly close, at the price, it’s hard to beat. Glad your gun seems to like it. I wish one of mine did.

I’ve generally had really good luck with the black tip, but it seems like a lot of times grendels will either like ELDs or SSTs too, so there’s probably a bit of luck with that. I go through a lot of effort tuning up my uppers but I can usually get it to produce +/- MOA from a quality build. For the price it completely changed my opinion of the cartridge given I don’t handload
