Looking for some input on an issue I had today at the range I have never experienced before.
Some details on the rig for context
TL3
Proof Pre-Fit .223
Razor gen 2
manners TCS
75 eldm lapua brass 24gr varget

So I have ran this same setup for about 900 rounds now and has been a solid performer.

Today mid range session my zero shifted 8mils up. I couldn't understand what was going on and went to a 100 meter paper range. I checked torque specs on everything ( action, rings, base) nothing was loose. I re-zerod the gun and everything grouped fine and held zero.

My thoughts are something in the optic shifted.
Next step is checking the torque spec on the barrel and head back to the range to confirm.

Anyone ever come across an issue like this?

Since you already checked torque on everything and I don’t own that scope - is it possible you’re a revolution off?
My very first thought when I came back from 900 yards that I didn’t drop my dial. But I confirmed all turrets were brought back to zero and still impact was 8 mil high.

You check mv? It would be super odd for that much elevation but that should help point to gun or ammo
I had my Garmin mounted to the rig during the session. The MV stayed around the average of 2960 for this load, and the SD through the day was about 41 at the highest. The average was around 15.

How does one validate this? That's the only logical outcome I can arrive at. That something mechanical went wrong with the scope.

Rezero it and make sure the screws are snugged up. Then try it out.

As mentioned 8 mils is not a zero shift. It’s a huge amount.

Thanks I appreciate the input. I think for my own mental sanity I am gonna pull the optic and send it in for vortex to look at.

You can if you want but I’d try the simpler check first and save shipping time and having to remount. If the screws just weren’t snugged down enough it can happen.

It coukd be a waste of a trip considering the most likley culprit is the turret cover slipping. Rezeroing and shooting it some is the quickest way to validate that's the problem. Anything else that coukd cause a shift that big is going to be easy to detect just trying to zero.
