FUBAR times 6!

NV mounts installed backwards (yes doesn't effect accuracy but it's attn. to detail is my bitch there)
Pics ?

Seems like some of these conventional stocks and short scopes you need it “backwards” and even then it’s not enough sometimes.

For sure.
Most forward mounts are designed to reverse the top hemisphere if needed to close the gap between the day optic. That being said if the barrel contour is barely clearing, flipping the bridge will result in the damned thing conflicting with the barrel due to the increased taper diameter upstream from the mount. Maybe that's what was happening with the awesome lightning sticks mentioned above.

The KMW MUNSter is designed to do that and a bunch are ran in a reversed fashion with shorter scopes.

By these bafoons? I wouldn't trust them with a nerf gun. Incompetent fools with badges are more of a danger to public than an asset.

My dude, please edit the spelling of "buffoon" before someone else sees it. If you're gonna call someone retarded you have to spell it right or it loses its punch.

It's that mark/indentation up at 1 o'clock position. I knew I took a picture of it. LOL!

That's a new feature. You can easily adjust the headspace by changing the amount and thickness of the chips and have all the peace of mind of a shouldered and torqued barrel without having to resort to a barrel nut.

You can even compensate for that reverse canted scope mount by putting additional/thicker chips at the 6 o'clock position on the receiver face to push the muzzle up.

At least the bolt knob has the tactical TP wrapped around it

Good on you Frank for doing the right thing
One of the 4 guns we actually cut some of it off. It was hitting the receiver when you closed the bolt and didn't want it interfering at all with the bolt closing.

So yes... we're watching all the little stuff as well.

Doing the right thing is the only thing to do.

Well as an update... they brought in gun #5 end of the week before. They needed the gun back before the 11th as one of the guys that used it was going out for some LE training.

So John worked on it pretty much right away. Jeff here in the shop took it to the range on Monday last week. Box Hornady ammo shot sub 1/2moa.

Replaced the scope mount.

No bolt to barrel clearance. Bolt was hitting the breech face like on two of the other ones and the other two had only like .004" clearance. So John fixed that. He also had to break the edges on the chamber and bolt nose counterbore as the edges where all sharp.

Head space was good but John repolished the chamber.

Cut and recrowned the muzzle and rethreaded the muzzle.

Flip the night vision mount around.

Rifle #5 had a really loose fitting trigger in it. Either it's in the trigger body being undersize or the receiver from Remmy was cut to large. So we installed and loaned them a Trigger Tech trigger for now. It fit much better but still a little loose. I told them to send the other trigger back to the manufacturer and see if they can look at it and see what's up. I said when you get a new one bring the rifle back into us and will swap the triggers out. The Trigger Tech trigger we installed will be used by then so I told the shop I would buy it from the shop and put it into one of my rifles.

So other than the note on the trigger pretty much the same thing as the others so far.

Waiting on guns #6 and #7 now to come in.

It's the only way to simulate dialing and shooting at 1,400 yds on a 100yd range!.
The DeltaSealSOC units all run that setup for their snipers.
Well, WTF do I know...
But seems to me you need to find 1,400 yards somewhere, if you want to be proficient shooting at that range.
Any idiot can dial elevation. Learning wind calls, reading mirage at 1,400 yards you need to BE at 1,400 yards...

LOL.

Just when I thought I was being soooooo sarcastic, only a . . . . well . . . . a mentally challenged person . . . . would think I was being literal.

Holy shit! He took that bait and ripped all the line off of my Zebco 33 running with it.**
I'm pretty sure he would have done the same with a salt water surf rig.

Gotta love the internet!
I like TOTALLY need to come here more and troll for dumbasses.

**@Wannashootit . . . . To be clear, I do not have a Zebco 33 and I do not, in fact have any bait.

Know yer audience. ;)

Apologies @Frank Green.
I didn't mean to turn your thread into a goat fuck.

What you posted and are taking the time to update us on is actually interesting and educational.

(and in case @Wannashootit reads this, )
For real.
Not being sarcastic.
I didn't take no offense. All cool brother!

These guys related to that tacticalrifles.net guy from years back?

Bet that dept can find a weird link between the decision maker at the PD and the shop if they look a little bit…..
These were two of my first sarcastic thoughts also.

What a hilarious thread!

Oh, and great work as is usual, Frank! Thanks for the laughs.

How does someone even get to the point of being setup to custom fab scope bases without understanding the cant?

I would expect 0moa if they weren't sure, but they fuckin' committed in the wrong direction
Well, if you have no idea about anything shooting and are told to fab some mounts that “look like this, but add a 20 MOA cant”…🤷🏻‍♂️
