Can anyone share their personal experience or point me towards and posts/videos going over the Guide 1913 QD mount, specifically for the TB630 (non-LRF)/TB1250? There's a few posts I've seen around on different forums saying the mount isn't good, but not anything specific as to why.

For context on why the TB630: Great price, the dual 18650 batteries, and the high-res AMOLED screen would make a great pairing as a clip-on for my NX8 2.5-20x50 for ranges max out to 500m. I understand the TB650LRF has the 4x bolted in 1913 mount, but I don't really need a LRF and you lose battery life going from 2x to 1x18650 on the LRF model.

Thanks all!

Hey man, just sharing some hands on experience. I’ve found the Guide 1913 QD gooseneck mounts serviceable but not great. They aren’t true to MIL STD 1913, so when I bolted one to three different rails, on two of them the lever wouldn’t close without excessive tweaking. In my book, you’re better off with a Rusan adapter. It can be picky about optic footprints, but with a thin rubber shim and some quality US gaffers tape, it always locks down solid for me.

One big plus of the TB630 LRF is its dual stud, more normal style QD mount on the bottom. It’s not machined as well as an ADM economy mount, but it grips more consistently than that gooseneck. I’ve been tinkering with a flip up sight adapter for it, think an adapter for the SkeetIR Unity mount, but nothing too serious. The aftermarket really needs to step up and build a reliable solution here.

Full disclosure: I’m a Guide dealer and I’ve asked them about better mounting options with zero progress. It’s really on the aftermarket to deliver, especially for the 630 LRF. Guide doesn't give a shit. As for the optic itself, it’s solid and really shines in the 1 to 4x range. I’ve been running mine behind a 1 to 10x Vudu on a Mini Fix mount. It works really well, but I'll probably move it on and scoop up a dedicated thermal rig I can bounce between rigs via a quality QD mount.

LMK if you need any additional info...

Really appreciated the detailed feedback. I ended up pulling the trigger on a unit from Guide's site with their Mil discount for around $2450 for optic and gooseneck mount shipped. I knew the LRF version would have the "better" of the two mounts, but I'm hoping this is "serviceable" enough for my purposes for the time being. Hopefully it won't come down to having to grab the Rusan and being out $180 on the QD gooseneck mount.

I've got a few Wilcox SkeetIR FTS mounts, I wouldn't be upset if someone put out a dovetail adapter mount for that.
