LMT .308 MWS

I shot my LMT 6.5 CM 20" at 100 and 300 yards today to re-zero. I just got the scope back from Nightforce, The parallax got out of whack internally somehow, they were pretty good about repairing it under warranty, but it did take 6 weeks.

Overall, I'm impressed with this rifle. Every group was sub MOA today, except the first cold bore shot on a very clean barrel (1.14"). The groups at 305 yards averaged 0.5 MOA (1.11", 1.87", 1.52"). I'm absolutely thrilled with that from a large frame gas gun, no malfunctions, gas perfectly, I really couldn't ask for much more from an AR10.

Just finished this build today. Matt over at Distributors of Democracy did an amazing job with the Troy Coyote Tan, lasering and color fill. Has d. Wilson’s 16” 6.5 creed barrel.
How do those barrels shoot? Kicking around the idea of buying one, but probably will buy an 18" Bartlein from Craddock instead and have D Wilson convert it

Regardless, very nice rifle

Agreed. That's a sweet piece.

Those are outstanding 300yd groups for a gas gun. Nice shooting

Thanks! I'm sure it's just a lack of focus on my part, but I tend to shoot smaller in terms of MOA at 300 yards than I do at 100. It's the same thing with my bolt-action rifles.

Part of it is probably me shooting the center out of my aiming point at 100, but I'm sure part of it is my getting a little sloppy with fundamentals

I took these 3 out yesterday to our private range. The MARS-H did very well. Got very close to hitting the 810 yd torso silouhette steel, but we had some serious varying winds yesterday. I was able to hit the 600 yd shoulder silhouette and a 8" round at 500 yds consistently. But after 500 yds, the field opens up with no wind breaks on either side.

My brother-in-law did very well with it and he had never used a scope past 100 yds or so before yesterday. I chop it up to my flawless instruction lol

Does anyone have any accuracy reviews or range reports for D Wilson converted large frame barrels?

My factory LMT 6.5 CM 20" SS has a bunch of rounds on it, it's on borrowed time, I'm thinking about biting the bullet and ordering a Bartlein from Craddock. D Wilson did a conversion using one of these barrels on my 5.56 lmt, and it is outstanding.

Just looking for any first-hand experience with the mws conversion barrels. I'd love to find an 18" - 20" barrel that will absolutely hammer without the long wait time involved with a Bartlein from Craddock, and then of course sending it off again for conversion once I receive it.

You won't lose any accuracy from the conversion. If you have a quality barrel it will hammer just the same as before. I just received my second back from Dave and would not hesitate to send more. They have great customer service, fast turn around times, normally.

I totally understand that, I am very happy with the two small frame barrels he converted for me. What large frame barrels do people tend to get the best results from?

I was thinking either Bartlein or Proof solid stainless. I'm going to look around to see if I can find a Krieger in stock anywhere, I've never owned one, but always wanted to try one

I’ve owned several Krieger barrels and they all have shot lights out.
