    Ocw help

My DPMS SASS's sweet spot is 42.5gr Varget under 175 SMKs OR 178 AMAXs (both shoot great) at mag length. Shoots bugholes, at around 2640, IIRC. I agree with Dan and 918, your loads seem reaally hot for that gun. Mine started abusing brass over 44gr.

    Powder in Central Texas

Just an FYI - There is a small, kinda overpriced LGS in Liberty Hill TX, that has more gunpowder in one place than I've seen in 18 months. (yay!) If you need a certain type powder though, there is a good chance to grab a pound or two to tide you over. The bad news - They are asking 37-39 dollars...

Gunsmithing Recommendations for Central Texas gunsmiths?

Nothing major at this point, I just need to have a few barrels threaded for suppressors. In the Austin area, and I'd prefer not to ship them if possible. Anyone have quality results they would recommend?? Thanks in advance.

Any rimfire mildot mrad scopes out there?

I think you need to get the term 'rimfire scope' out of your head. I read your questions in your other thread, and I think a 'feature set' is what you need to look for. The SS 5-20 that you already have is the correct feature set, but may be more expensive than you are willing to commit to your...

    New CZ rimfire stick

Lol, no, I'm definitely keeping the Manners. I'm very happy with it. When I bought it, the 455 VPT was the only one they had in stock. If the Tacticool model had been on the shelf right beside it, I'm not sure I would have nutted up the extra 400 bones, though. The Manners is obviously a...

    New CZ rimfire stick

So what's the diff between the 455V tacticool, and the 455 VPT in the Manners t4? Did I pay an extra $400 only for the Manners, and is it worth it? Not whining, just curious. My 455 VPT is a pleasure to shoot. There is a 455 in the Boyds available at LGS, and it's kinda tempting me.

    Jogging in Austin, TX

Like I said, she had the choice to identify herself and take her jaywalking ticket like a grownup. OR, refuse to ID, which means an officer CAN'T write a ticket, and is compelled to make an arrest. Her choice. Granted, it doesn't look great on the video, but it is what it is. Sometimes, video...

    Jogging in Austin, TX

A few points of law: 1) When a pedestrian crosses a city street and interrupts the flow of vehicle traffic (cars have to slow down or swerve), that's jaywalking. When there are marked pedestrian crosswalks available, it is a violation of a city ordinance in Austin, and a class C misdemeanor...

CZ 455 Lilja group buy! Updated with who is back ordered and who is not!!!!

Just gotta say, need to offer these threaded from the get go. I don't wanna order a super duper high zoot barrel, and then send it out to someone else to thread it. I want the super duper high zoot guy to thread it when he makes it. Besides, doesn't everyone here have a 22 can?

Got a line on a Winchester model of 1917. Worth it?

Thanks, that is a good start. I will try to get some pics up. I looked at the stock closely, and did not find anything that looks like a 'W'. On the bottom of the stock, behind the trigger guard, I found a 'P', in a box, about 1/2" square, with maybe an obscured date code. While it could be a...

Got a line on a Winchester model of 1917. Worth it?

I don't know too much about vintage rifles, so I wanted to ask the fine folks of the hide. I have been offered a Winchester model of 1917 in a trade. I have found values all over the place on the net, and so I'm not certain what I have here. Here's what I know: It is stamped U.S. MODEL OF 1917...

the 6.5 Grendel gets one last try

The DPMS slick side uppers are plenty heavy-duty. They are cheap from Midway etc, and about 2x thicker than an A2/M4 style upper.
