    Berger vld's in a 22-250

I've shot some 63 grain Sierra soft points through 1-14" twist .22-250 and they shot just fine. I think Sierra reccomends a faster twist, but I could be wrong. With broadside chest shots, it wil do just fine. .22-250 isn't my ideal deer cartridge, but I've used it to kill a number of...

This sucker Remington AAC-SD just won't shoot...

My AAC-SD loves Varget and the 175 class bullets. It didn't seem to like Varget much with the 208 grain AMAXs, but I prefer being able to use the magazine anyway.

WOA match vs BCM recce? Most accurate?

I don't have any experience the barrels you're asking about, but they both have good reputations. When you're shooting cheap 55 grain ammo, I don't think you'll see a difference in the two. That ammo just isn't going to be super accurate. I do have a good bit of experience shooting 55 grain...

Hog hunting TONIGHT! NEED HELP! 556vs308

I've shot a bunch of hogs in Texas with a number of different rounds, both pistol and rifle. Using expanding bullets, I've found shot placement is far more important than caliber. I seen several hogs shot with poorly placed .308 hunting bullets keep running. I've also seen a buch of hogs...

    Browning BAR 308. Shooter?

Based on the two I've loaded for, if I was getting 1.5" at 100 I'd keep working up loads. Both we're kind of picky, but when you fed them something they liked, they would shoot around .75" with hunting bullet (mostly Nosler partitions). One other thing I noticed is they are sensitive the...

    Browning BAR 308. Shooter?

I haven't shot a .308, but the BARs I've shot have been very accurate. The only complaint I have noticed is they're more pressure sensitive than bolt guns, so if you're going to reload start low and work up very carefully.

Anybody have a pic of manners adj. butt system?

I dont have any pics of it, but I've got the adjustable spacer system on my T4a and there is not 3" of adjustment in it. Still love the stock though.

stupid question time... reloading LC 7.62 brass to shoot out of .308 bolt rifle

I bought 500 that were once fired from Midway some years ago. They reccomended using a small base die for the first sizing then using your regular die after that for a bolt gun. With proper case prep, they are outstanding and I have shot some of my best groups with my .308s using them.

    53gr vmax in a 223?

I've had the best results with 8208 xbr and benchmark shot out of a couple of ARs. The 53 grain vmax is the most accurate bullet I've shot in both of those rifles. I can't quote charge weights off the top of my head, but they were close to book max.

    Barrel for MATEN Build

Ive got a DPMS bolt carrier group on order, but I'm not married to it by any stretch. I could just as easily order an armalite BCG too and sell the DPMS

    new to NFA

I put a noveske chrome lined barrel in mine. Im also running a cabine spring and an h2 buffer but may kick it up to an h3 if I start running heavier loads.

Funny you mention the DD Lite rail, that's exactly what I am planning to use

    Barrel for MATEN Build

I know my timing is spectacular on this, but I'm starting to piece together parts for a MATEN build. I'm looking to build a medium weight precision rifle in 6.5 creedmoor that will primarily be a target rifle and a medium range hunting rifle for Texas whitetail size game animals. I'm thinking...

    what powder for .223/5.56

748 has been my go to for 55 grain bullets since I started loading .223. I've also had good luck with benchmark, but it seems to burn much hotter. The best groups I've been shooting lately with bullets in the 55 grain class have been with 8208 XBR. Varget is really too slow for the class of...

    Geissele

I've got very limited experience with my SSA-E (less than 200 rounds), but it is an incredibly sweet trigger. I bought it over some of the other models he offers because I didn't want to mess with an adjustable trigger on an AR. Will definitely spend the money to put his triggers in all of my...

    Seating depth with Bergers

Re: Seating depth with Bergers I've shot them out of a couple of different ARs loaded to mag length and have gotten roughly MOA accuracy. This is inline with the average accuracy of both rifles so I would say give it a shot at least. From my understanding VLDs are sensitive to seating...

    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

Re: Form 4 wait time Got my first stamp back on Saturday 12/7/12 for an sbr. Sara jones was the examiner, ATF recieved docs on the 6/13/12, check cleared my bank on 6/20/12, didn't check pending status. I was about a week short of six months from the time they got everything. NOW if...

    How accurate is your AAC-SD?

Re: How accurate is your AAC-SD? Mine actually shot much better than anticipated with the factory stock, but I was extremely careful not to load the front of the rifle stock and apply pressure. I shot it off of carefully setup sandbags (no bipod whatsoever) while I was waiting for my HS...

First Ammo to Try in my Rem. 700 SPS AAC-SD .308

Re: First Ammo to Try in my Rem. 700 SPS AAC-SD .308 I'd try the FGMM with 175 match kings first personally. Its a known quantity as far as the ammo's performance, so youll be getting more of an indication of the rifle itself You can take that bullet out further than the 168 match king due...

    How accurate is your AAC-SD?

Re: How accurate is your AAC-SD? I'm working on load development for the 208's now. Looks like my load is going to be some where around 48.5 grains of RL17 using Winchester cases and a coal of 3.050". Its shooting as well as any of the other loads I've worked up for the rifle.
