Re: Ak-47 vs. Ar-15 For Only Rifle?
I prefer the Ar style platforms. To me, they are not as clunky or akward as the AK. As far as accuracy goes, There isnt that great of a difference for combat purposes. Both will be MOH (minute of human) at 300 yds, in most cases the maximum combat distance...
Re: Legal Question on a Barrel for shipping (Maryland)
Yes, it is completely legal. As stated above, the only part that needs to go to a FFL is a stripped lower receiver.
Re: The word "Budget"...
Its the posts like this that turn me away from wanting to shoot long range. Im a 16 year old kid who wants to start shooting long range. Ive been saving money to get a rifle for about 6 months now. Then i see this shit and i go, wow, people who shoot long range are...

Re: Best AR Platform for the $
I have yet to see anyone mention Del Ton Inc. aka DTI. I have an entirely stock DTI upper and the lower is a bushmaster, and it is flawless. It will take any ammo, its .5 MOA accurate, and is consistent out to 600m (haven't shot it farther). Highly impressed...
Re: M1 Garand Load
Call me crazy, but i load 41 grains of varget with a 150 grain projectile, and get good groups. Then again, im not shooting farther than 300 right now, so the reduced velocity is not a problem.

Re: Mosin Bolt not wanting to lock down
Look down into the chamber and to the right. You will see an indentation that the extractor claw moves and rotates into. Make sure that is SPOTLESS! That is the main reason owners of mosin nagants have this problem.
You can see what i am talking about...
Re: M1 Garand typical accuracy?
Ive got a CMP M1 and get about 2-3 MOA with it. Like everyone else has said, get it for what it is. Its a living piece of history, and a legendary rifle. I love to admire the history that mine holds..... And shoot it of course!
Re: Please help me figure out more info on this gun
Yup, its a mauser. There is one at my gun shop chambered in 308. Im probably going to pick it up. its only 300$, so i figure its worth a shot. Its got a heavy barrel and integrated muzzle break, as well as a custom thumb through. Ill see...
Re: reloadinng
Well, if you add powder, it will increase the velocity, making a "flatter" shooting round. What i would do, is just find an accurate load and give it a few extra clicks if need be. its simpler.
Re: What would you do?
Personally, i would go 308. Much easier to find, and with the proper load, it can be just as accurate. Sure, it may not be as flat shooting like the 260, but youll be able to get the same results downrange. Just my 2 cents.
