Custom rifle: must reload for max precision?

Re: Custom rifle: must reload for max precision? Reloading is the only way to go, if you want to truly get the most out of your rifle. Sure there can be factory stuff that does , and can maybe shoot with your reloads, but you need to test it to find out. The other key is knowing how to...

GAP 3/8 MOA Guarantee fiction or reality?

Re: GAP 3/8 MOA Guarantee fiction or reality? the chrony in my opinion is worthless, I wouldnt use the results from one to wipe my ass. Get a good chronograph so that the results mean something when you get them. Great rifle you got there, enjoy it, it will serve you well. mike

    Barrel for the .300WM?

Re: Barrel for the .300WM? For starters you cant go wrong with either barrel. Secondly I wouldnt go shorter than 26. I personally would go longer and then 26 and then set the thing back every 1000 rnds. Enjoy the 300WM, they really can do a lot. mike

    New Rifle Help!

Re: New Rifle Help! Ok, excellent but he didnt ask your advice on what caliber to choose, he asked your advice on which weapon system. Since Im pretty sure the AE only comes in 308, he has probably chosen a 308. So again, all things being equal a 168FGMM fired from a 20in AE barrel or a...

    New Rifle Help!

Re: New Rifle Help! ok, i gotta ask? what does the wind have to do with either rifle choice? If hes going 20in barrel regardless, how is the wind in his area an important question? Also furthest shot he is going to be taking? We are talking about a police sniper here, their not going to...

    New Rifle Help!

Re: New Rifle Help! Well I guess I will jump in here and say the same thing that everyone else is going to say. You cant go wrong with either choice, you have narrowed it down to a gun that shoots great right out of the box or a gun that should shoot great after it is assembled properly...

    santa delivers... new 223AI

Re: santa delivers... new 223AI Well the first thing, I like about Mr. Corn is he actually does exactly what he says he is going to do. It has been my experience with gunsmiths over the years that when they tell you its going to be 6 months, it takes twice that long at least. Not this guy...

    .308 to 1000 yrds

Re: .308 to 1000 yrds I think one of the great things about the .308 is it forces you to do a good job reading and adjusting for the wind. The hot rod rounds are great and I own a bunch of them, but good wind reading is what makes us better shooters. mike

Sako TRG Accy. Sale at Beretta

Re: Sako TRG Accy. Sale at Beretta no kidding, 2700 for a folding stock.... they can cram that you know where. If people didnt buy the stuff the prices would come down. Everytime I think I want a TRG I just think about what the accessories costs and change my mind.

243win vs. 260 rem vs. 7mm-08 vs other

Re: 243win vs. 260 rem vs. 7mm-08 vs other 260 over the 243 simply based on barrel life alone. I love the 260, I have a couple of them. Ballisticly at distance they are all pretty close, so why would you get the barrel burner for no real advantage? My vote 260 all day long. Mike
