Hunting & Fishing NZ Red Stag

Re: NZ Red Stag Why am I not surprised that you killed an absolute toad, I'm also not surprised that you used the 155 Scenar. Congrats on a hell of trophy man, glad to see you and your gear made it in on piece. Enjoy the rest of your trip, you and the family have damn sure earned it!!

Hunting & Fishing Accubond or partition for elk

Re: Accubond or partition for elk They are both great bullets for killing elk. I find the Accubond is more accurate in my rifles, and has a better B.C. 180 grain is plenty of bullet for an elk.

Hunting & Fishing Where to go? DIY Mule Deer?

Re: Where to go? DIY Mule Deer? MTFWP is talking about making the cow elk hunting in that area an over the counter tag next season. It will probably happen so that tag will be a guarantee. They are also talking about making you wait 4 years to apply for the bull permit once you draw it...

    Hunting & Fishing 243ai

Re: 243ai Scott; what is really scary about that rifle is he is still fire forming brass, and you can't believe the groups it shoots. He is shooting 87gr Vmax, with 37.7 gr of Varget. That is one of those rifles when you get behind it, it just feels deadly. John Knapp did the rebuild on...

    Where is the Varget?

Re: Where is the Varget? Powder Valley has 1 pound cans in stock. If anyone feels like making a road trip to Miles City, MT the sporting goods store there has BR4, BR2, and Fed 210M primers in stock. They have a pretty good selection of powder too. Finally got my hands on some H4350 the...

Rifle Scopes Leica 10x42 Geovid HD

Re: Leica 10x42 Geovid HD Well I've had plenty of sub zero weather lately, and I really don't have any complaints about how the ranging button works. If you are wearing bulky thick gloves it might be a problem. Ranged a coyote at 805 meters in -15 weather the other day, on a wide open flat...

Hunting & Fishing Questions about Antelope and calibers

Re: Questions about Antelope and calibers My advice for you on this hunt is what we tell everyone that comes on a hunt here. Bring your favorite rifle, the one that you shoot the best. We've taken antelope with everything from a .220 swift to a .338 Lapua. Weight is not going to be an...

    1906 Winchester...Help!

I picked one up the other day for next to nothing. It was missing the stocks, but not a big deal I found replacements. I'm not concerned with historical value on this rifle because I am going to let my kids shot the hell out of it. I take it apart last night to clean it up and was horribly...

Rifle Scopes Leica 10x42 Geovid HD

I got a pair in meters a week ago from Alex at Europitics. I wanted to use them in the field for a while before I offered up an opinion on them. I had a pair of Ultavids and replaced them with these. I really like having the range finder in the binos. I am getting fast and consistent...

Hunting & Fishing Game Camera advise

Re: Game Camera advise I don't mean to jump your thread but I am wondering the same thing. Can you put big memory cards in these things? I would like to be able to use one that I could upload the images to my computer without having to go look at it all the time. Correct me if I'm wrong but...

    Gunsmithing Ruger action worth it?

Re: Ruger action worth it? I had my Ruger M77 rebarreled, bedded, and the trigger worked over, the rifle shoots really well...but it's no Remington. I would sell your other stuff and build one sweet rifle just the way you want it. Don't do it half ass, even if it takes some time to be able...
