    Try EGW, I've always had good luck with them. They offer steel and aluminum matched pairs. Their CS is tops as well.

    mini red dot mounted way out front???

    I have always mounted my issued red dot as far forward as possible. This gives you the longest sight radius, and makes the system more accurate. Think 3-dot sights on a hand gun compared to a open sighted rifle.

    If it were me, I would go with a red dot sight. Vortex Has a nice model out right now that you can pick between two different colors. I scored expert many times out to 300m in the Infantry with one. 100 yards is nothing.

    You get what you pay for. IMO there are WAY too many superduper words "hardcore" "xtreme" "Force Recon" etc. Try EGW for your rings.

    You can't go wrong with a Savage. My first rifle was/is a 10fp-le2 in .308 Win. I took the rifle to a 600y match in Medford OR and shot middle of the pack. To this day the rifle will still hit what I'm aiming at if I do my part. Same for my 111 Long range hunter in .300 WM. I keep up with custom...

    I have used the "Shooter" app out to 1275 without a problem. The other nice thing about the app is they have a web interface, so your not entering all your info on your phone.

    Took a deer at 600 a few years ago. thats about as far as I would go with it. And that was with reloaded ammo.

    Progressive or Single Stage?

    This is right on. I run a 550 for both but use it as a single stage for on bolt guns. It's all up to you.
