Rifle Scopes Windage and Parallax Adjustment: Which side?

On some higher end scopes you can choose which side you want your windage and parallax controls. I notice that some people choose to put both of them on the left side or right side. Which is better? In my mind if you were right handed and you were shooting off the bipod with a sand bag under...

Gunsmithing Source a short Anschutz rail?

Re: Source a short Anschutz rail? Thanks for the offer. Someone pm'd me and explained that if I installed a rail on a sporter stock I'd likely crack the stock. I was not aware of that so I'm not sure I'll be able to do anything with it. Has anyone else cracked a thin stock installing a rail?

Gunsmithing Source a short Anschutz rail?

I have a Rem 700 in .25-06 with the factory wood stock. I would like to install an Anschutz rail on it but the only one I can find is made by Versa-Pod and is too long. They say it's a 7.5" rail length and a 9" overall length. I don't think I would feel safe using anything over 7.5" overall...

Re: Vortex Viper PST 6x24x50 FFP reviews? I believe I've seen what were in my mind some less than pleasant responses to your questions in the "Optics for sale" section. I think you did not deserve those types of answer. That being said, before I ask most questions on this or any other forum...

Rifle Scopes Tutorial on aligning/bedding 2-piece base?

I have a long action Remington 700. Since it does not have a detachable magazine I place a great deal of value on top loading. Therefore I would like to avoid a 1 piece base for the new optic I am buying. Unfortunately I have been searching this site and Googling in general for an hour or so and...

Re: Value of an RCBS 304 scale that's new in box? If you payed close to $300 about 17 years ago I imagine it's probably worth twice that much based upon inflation alone if it's truly NIB. Oh well. lol.

Value of an RCBS 304 scale that's new in box?

I'm trying to get in to reloading and was researching scales. Seems like there is a wide range of options but many times the RCBS 304 was mentioned as a good one. So I searched eBay for it about a half hour ago and found one new in box that was set to expire in a half hour. It went for $425...

Gunsmithing "Objective Research" thread & cleaning rods

I just spent quite a bit of time reading through that thread. Actually only got through 2 or 3 pages of it, but I never saw anyone commenting on this. If you're not worried about copper moving at 3,000 fps and 4,000 degree temperatures and 60,000 psi pressures all combined messing your barrel...
