    Gotcha just wanted to make sure there wasn't an easy fix that was overlooked. I have an older McMillan with their thumbwheel set up and gave up on it. I ended up taking it off and just using a stock pack on that rifle. I understand re the itch for another rifle:)

    Another possible consideration would be a Kimber Montana. Would save some money over a Cooper or custom. Mine is a 280 AI. It's light weight which takes some practice to shoot to its potential. Recoil isn't an issue for me, the recoil pad and stock are excellent. Trigger is great too...

    Thanks Sneaky, I've got a Sentinel Stock which I like a lot but still getting used to the grip. Had pretty good results with it today and as I use it more it should become more natural. Haven't owned an MPA or KRG but plan to, just a question of funding:)

    I got a chance to handle KRG recently and really like the vertical grip. For those that have handled both the MPA and the KRG, how does the MPA vertical grip compare? With the KRG I had a real nice placement of the trigger relative to the grip, just fit my hand.

    I'm afraid when the rifle doesn't group so well I am the most likely culprit, which is what makes it fun and challenging. I'm not a huge fan of the ergo's on an AR for precision shooting either.

    I've gotten five shot groups in the .4's with my tobr and put 9 shots into .6 (not quite a 10 shot group but close), these were with FGMM. I haven't really worked on seeing what I can do with reloads yet. This is also with the "field grade" barrel.

    I've used SLIP 2000 for a long time and like it much. I've heard great things about FireClean as well and plan to try that too. With an AR in my experience it generally works best to keep them wet/well lubed.

    I've recently put this set up on my Predatobr, also replaced the RAT stock with a Magpul. I like the system quite a lot, get a real solid cheek weld with it. I put moleskin on mine so my cheek doesn't slip off the riser, also covers up the shiny finish.

    My TOBR came with the field grade and its been fantastic. The match grades came out not long after and I doubt there is much if any difference at least in my case.
