Re: New picture of my 700 I don't see many all black builds on this site. Very lean and mean looking.

Ranking reloading steps by accuracy gain

Re: Ranking reloading steps by accuracy gain Really excellent stuff in here guys. I'll definitely be giving more attention to the primer pocket and flash hole prep. On a side note, I was pretty ecstatic this morning when I out-shot my previous best group of .75" by .3" with my first ever...

    Parkerized Sling Swivels vs Blued

Re: Parkerized Sling Swivels vs Blued In my experience, parkerizing is tougher and more rust resistant than regular bluing, but sling swivels are going to show wear eventually regardless of the finish. Seems like to me like an instance of don't sweat the small stuff.

Ranking reloading steps by accuracy gain

I'm new to reloading and have done piles of reading on the multitude of stages in brass prep and loading. I know everyone has their own way of doing things and a sequence that they swear by. I'm curious to see which stages you guys rank as most important/beneficial for your maximum accuracy...

    shooting gloves

Re: shooting gloves The backs are neoprene so I don't think they'll fray. For me, they're thin enough I've never felt the need to snip them.

    shooting gloves

Re: shooting gloves +1 for Hatch. They're top notch and have plenty of styles to choose from. I have a pair of Hatch specialist all weathers that I've never had a problem with while shooting my 700p, AR, or glock. Although, as much as I love the super thin palm on my specialists for...

    Hunting hearing protection?

Re: Hunting hearing protection? Most of my hunting is with a shotgun where I don't usually wear protection, but I've been giving THESE a look lately. With the plugs out you can still hear ambient noises and have enough protection to hopefully keep your ears from ringing. With the plugs in...

Best Rear Bags for the field

Re: Best Rear Bags for the field I don't do much shooting shooting in field conditions but I wouldn't hesitate to use my Triad wedge. Especially if size and weight is a concern.

    Remington RACS / MSR??

Re: Remington RACS / MSR?? The best way to search Snipers hide is plug "site:snipershide.com" followed by your search into google. It should look like THIS. Here's a past thread on the Rem MSR : LINK

    DIY Wind Indicators

Re: DIY Wind Indicators I use Trail marking tape. I tie a length to my target stand and some to something near where I'm shooting. Its a cheap and easy fix for determining wind direction.

Best Quick Detach Bipod Mount for Tango Down Bipod

Re: Best Quick Detach Bipod Mount for Tango Down Bipod I like my larue kit and would buy more, but I can't say whether thats the right mount or not. ADM also has a mount they advertise specifically for the TD bipod. ADM tangodown mount. Of course, I dont think you'd regret going with an...

    Rear Bag

Re: Rear Bag They all work. Go with whatever size and shape tickles your fancy and looks like it'll work for your application. Rear bag comparison I have the Triad lil' wedge and it works pretty damn good. Really small size but it can get quite a bit of height on end.

    223 v 308 on steel

Re: 223 v 308 on steel Hardly a scientific test and not ar500 but here's a piece of 1/4" mild steel I shot at 100 yards for shits and giggles. The 3 in the middle are federal m1a 7.62 (168gr otm bullet) out of my 700p and the 2 on the outside are xm193 (55gr fmj) out of a 16" AR. The 223 left...

    Suppressors Glock Malfunction

Re: Glock Malfunction I've heard of this happening but I'd thought it was only on a certain serial range of g22's. With all the good things I've heard about glocks customer service I wouldn't be too worried. Not that guns falling apart is ok.

    Precision rifle safety manipulation?

At what points should the safety be engaged and disengaged on a PR? I'm wondering what mil/leo and classes are teaching. On an AR safety manipulation is so easy that I'm in the habit of engaging it any time I stop shooting, but it seems like a lot of stocks don't allow for easy manipulation of a...
