Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 main spring help

Yes that is the spring, But it is the little tab on The left finger, not the locator at the bottom. What is involved in tuning? Thats exactly how it broke. Per instructions using it to take down the mag catch

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 main spring help

I have a SA Range Officer in 45acp, and have never detail stripped. Being a shitty rainy day, I decided today was the day. But when it was all apart I noticed the little 90* tab on the main sear spring broke off. How crucial is this tab? Can I run it without? It is a cheap part to replace, but I...

    How'd I do?

Thanks gents! This is what I was hoping for! But like we all say "knowing my luck...". The patina looks really even and no obvious questionable Mark's. One of my biggest concerns is the semi circle around the "P" on the hand guard? Cant wait for the rifle to come home. Per UPS it landed here...

    How'd I do?

I am sure I am not the only one that "got the urge" after following @pmclaine post "Damn! Bought and M1A...." I have always wanted an M1 Garand from the WWII era, and had done some research, but hit some road blocks, and it was put on the back burner. Anyways, fast forward to last week, or so...

    Gunsmithing AR10 upper vise block

I would have to search around again. It was a comment I read on another forum the other day. I know you do lots of testing so if your having good luck, and it's highly recommended amongst the members here it must be an industry go to.

    Gunsmithing AR10 upper vise block

The reaction rod seems pretty popular. But I remember reading that some companies will avoid the warranty if your using it? I take it the brownells thing is same principle just cheaper? @Zeroit that is a generous offer. Let me k ow what you think of it and which on you picked up. When the...

    Gunsmithing AR10 upper vise block

What are you guys using? I bought a wheeler that indexes off the take down bosses, but the force required to torque an Aero Atlas S1 barrel nut (30-60 ft lbs) seems to put a ton of stress on these points. This is an Aero M5 upper. At this point I can not torque it any further to get the turn...

    Adjustable gas block help

Thanks for the link. I am planning to get out and shoot sunday. I installed a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block as one of the 3 suggested by Wilson Combat, and a buddy has it on his rifle and loves it.

    Adjustable gas block help

I heard from Wilson Combat bright and early this morning. My buffer spring and weights all sounded correct. So the said try a new gas block and offered 3 recommendations. I ordered one and will post the results.

    Adjustable gas block help

And this is why I ask questions. Good to know. On the wilson barrel it does measure .3 from the shoulder. On the gas block center is just a little further away. Sounds like a new gas block is my best bet? My next question then, is an adjustable block worth it if I do not have the intention of...
