Importance of barrel extension fit to receiver?

Re: Importance of barrel extension fit to receiver? Some diehard High Power shooters actually epoxy the barrel extension to the upper. I'm not sure I'd go quite that far, but, you get the idea.

    Remmy 700 primer hit

Re: Remmy 700 primer hit If you want, <span style="color: #000099">Mike Bryant</span> can bush that firing pin hole so it doesn't do that. Remington's started doing that fairly recently; apparently they've changed the way they manufacture their bolts slightly. It <span...

Rainier Arms, Problem Fixed!!! Great Company!

Re: Rainier Arms, anyone have problems? A "matching bolt" only guarantees that it will headspace; there's nothing magical about it. The rifle will shoot the same, for all practical purposes, with any bolt that is in spec.

    What's your favorite 1911 grip?

Re: What's your favorite 1911 grip? I guess I'm a traditionalist; I like Ahrend's wood grips; specifically their Tactical style, in Gaboon Ebony. http://www.ahrendsgripsusa.com/1911.htm

Gunsmithing Remington 700p broken bolt handle

Re: Remington 700p broken bolt handle It needs to be either silver soldered or TIG welded. Some reinforce them with screws through the bolt handle into the bolt body, as well.

    Gunsmithing Electrohemical bore cleaning?????

Re: Electrohemical bore cleaning????? It works, and it's safe as long as you follow directions. Is it an Outers unit? If it is, I'd ask them for instructions for it. Otherwise, run a web search and you'll find all kinds of stuff. Luck!

    Gunsmithing Titanium muzzle brake

Re: Titanium muzzle brake I don't think titanium resists gas erosion very well. No personal experience, but that's what I've read. If making titanium muzzle devices was practical or cost-effective, I'm sure someone would be doing it.

looking to rebarrel my m4 soon

Re: looking to rebarrel my m4 soon Using a mid-length or rifle-length gas tube reduces wear and tear on your rifle and your brass. It allows a little more dwell time before the bolt unlocks, and reduces chamber pressure at that time. Gas rings last longer, for one thing. If I were going 18...

    Set Triggers

Re: Set Triggers CZ offers a single set trigger on some of their rifles - the 550, IIRC. Brownells carries a set trigger for the Remington - Moyers, I believe. No experience with it, though.

    RCBS Small base dies

Re: RCBS Small base dies I've loaded thousands of rounds for AR-15s, M1 Garands, M1As and FALs; I used regular RCBS FL dies on all of them, and I never crimped one single round. I've never had a problem asociated with using this approach, either. IMHO, unless you're loading brass that was...

Bushmaster stock question??? I want a new stock

Re: Bushmaster stock question??? I want a new stock That would be the takedown detent spring. Did you lose the detent, also? I keep spares of both on hand, personally, for those '<span style="font-style: italic">Oops</span>!' moments. A neat trick is to buy a 4-40 tap and setscrew, and...
