best case to push 130 jlk to 3100?

Re: best case to push 130 jlk to 3100? I used to load a LOT for the .264 Winmag, a Ruger #1 with a Douglas 26. I never used 130's but with 4350 and 4831, I could push Hornady 140's past the 3k mark without a lot of difficulty. though I found that my cases didn't last too long.

    Odd question on depriming.

Hello all, I have a some .308 brass that I would like to decap before I stick it into steel tumbling media. The problem is, I'm stuck in a hotel in WA for some time, and I can't set up a press. Does someone make some sort of tool that allows you to manually decap? This may seem like a waste...

good load for 30 30 single shot deadly 278 yds

Re: good load for 30 30 single shot deadly 278 yds One can do that with just about any older caliber when taken from a repeater application to a sturdy single shot...take the 45/70 for example. What you buy in the store is made to fire in almost any 45/70 out there, and is rather wimpy. Take...

Re: Stainless Steel Media Testimonials I'm excited about it too...I even managed to sell it on my wife, she does projects with beading, so she can us it to polis her stones and baubles when I'm not polishing brass. :-)

    Stainless Steel Media Testimonials

Re: Stainless Steel Media Testimonials This is probably a silly question and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but does the media ever wear out? Also, has anyone tried using this method to polish and/or remove moly from bullets?

New to reloading, need some info on .308 loads.

Re: New to reloading, need some info on .308 loads. In addition to everything that has already been said, always remember-there are NO stupid questions when it comes to reloading. Never be afraid to ask about something you don't know...most folks would prefer to spend the time explaining...

    Not Temperature Sensitive - RL15 & RL17

Re: Not Temperature Sensitive - RL15 & RL17 I use 4350 in my bigger magnums, .375 Wby and .338 Win, and most of my shooting has been in nice (50-80 degree) weather, so I can't comment on it. RL-15, on the other hand, is one of the staples for my .308 loading, and I've used it from...

    Old Mini-14 I just bought.

Hello all, I thought I would come here and defer to someone, if not many people that probably have a lot more knowledge on the subject than I. I just came into a 181-series Mini-14, blued, with the original factory folding stock and walnut front end. It's an LE turn-in so there is a bit...

    newbie reloader in an argument

Re: newbie reloader in an argument Any brass is relaodable, theoretically. BUT The Chinese ammo he is talking about has some major setbacks. The first being that it's most likely Berdan primed, which makes the process rather long and involved. The second is that the brass is most likely...

    Brass Problem

Re: Brass Problem I use LC "Match" brass almost exclusively. As a rule of thumb, I FL size it using a SB die for the first loading, then neck size after that for the ammo I load for my bolt rifle. I haven't run into any issues yet. My 2 cents...

    Reducing costs for 308

Re: Reducing costs for 308 Depending on your preferences, you can save a ton on your brass. You can still find LC Match brass rather cheaply, I bought my last 2k at $120/k, which comes out to $.12/each and it's good for many, many reloads if you're not loading for bear. Primers are...

    IMR4895 vs H4895?

Re: IMR4895 vs H4895? Hello all, While we're talking about 4895, I have a few kegs of RG (Radway Green) 4895 pulldown powder that I haven't gotten around to yet, does anyone have any experience with it?

    Compressed load question

Re: Compressed load question I have a few loads that are compressed, Varget in LC Match brass in .308, and 4831 in my .375 H&H. The crunching of the powder when you seat the bullet is a bit unsettling, but I have not noticed any difference between compressed and non-compressed loads in my...

    Rank .308 Brass Brands

Re: Rank .308 Brass Brands Not to start an argument here, but I prefer LC Match. To begin with I used it for financial reasons, and have since used it almost exclusively, as I have found very little, if any difference shooting other brands.
