    Re: fn~fnp 40, yah or nah??? I had a FNP9 for awhile (traded into it) and it was a good shooter, comfortable to shoot, decent trigger. The only reason I got rid of it is that I'm so invested in the Glock platform I didn't want to rebuy mags and holsters for a new platform.

    Re: Scope for rimfire Honestly I didn't notice much difference between the 1" vs 30mm tube. You may get more elevation out of the 30mm though.

    Re: Hard case vs Soft I've sold off most of my hard cases. I used to be a pelican guy. Soft cases are all that I need. I can see a pelican for flying but that's about it.

    Re: duracote vs. cerakote vs. hydrodip For ultimate durability I'd say cerakote if you don't need a special pattern. The real beauty of the film dip is that you can get patterns you just can't do in paint easily. I do hydrodipping and its durable, just not as durable as cerakote.

    Re: Leveling new scope? I use the wheeler professional leveling system. Its pretty easy to use.. basically clamp over the barrel and then calibrate, then put the other level on the turret cap, adjust scope until its level is the same as the barrel level.

    Re: Scope for rimfire I've had both the APT and the APV and like them both. I don't usually dial dope for rimfires so external turrets on the APT weren't used much for me.

    Re: Ruger 10/22 take down rifle I'd like to wait until they offer a threaded version or a barrel mfg comes out with a threaded barrel. On my standard 10/22 I chopped the front and had it threaded. It worked ok but it was more expensive then a factory option.

    Re: Could my scope be the problem? If you are looking for an inexpensive rimfire scope check out the Mueller line. the APV and APT are great scopes for rimfires. I run them on multiple rifles.

    Re: Bases and mounts for a Nightforce on a 5R I used the Nightforce direct mount with a defensive edge ACI/ACD mount. Works great and is rock solid. Kinda pricey though.
