    I've got the original reap ir but i doubt there's much difference. It's heavy especially with a pvs14 on a bridge. I used a 2lb dive weight in the back to counterbalance. Doable but not ideal.

    My recommendation would definitely be a combo of both nv and thermal. All is dependent on the property's. Why I say that is I hunt a lot of different properties and will cover many miles driving blacked out during a night. Sometimes in a truck, sometimes in a side by side, thermal doesn't work...

    Just get an external battery and you don't have ever worry about battery life and keep it on 60hz. The kit from UNV will last 20+ hours on a charge. It'll pay for itself quickly vs the cost of 3v batteries.
