I may as well join in. I used to consider Midway a "go-to" vendor, but then the shipping and handling costs starting creeping up, and the discounts became fewer and farther between. And then I ordered some .30-.30 brass along with some other items. The ".30-.30 brass" box was labeled as such...
I can get significantly higher velocities out of our .270's with lighter bullets with Varget. In this environment, though, you may have take what you can get, and how well it works depends on what you are trying to do.
In case you are wondering, I didn't have any luck with H335 or H110 in subsonics. I thought, based on the burn rate, they might work, but they didn't. I did load up some 110-grain bullets with H110 and that's kinda fun in the meantime.
Having just built an 8.5" .300 Blackout upper with the idea that I would someday be able to find A1680 and 220 SMKs, I was hoping it wouldn't come to begging! I did find some loaded subsonics from Detroit Ammunition and was able to get decent functioning. You might try that to get you over the...
Re: Is lcp the best option for pocket carry?
I'd recommend taking a look at the Sig 938 (or the 380 version if you don't want the 9 mm). Very nice pistol, much easier to shoot well than an LC9. My wife's LC9 had a major malfunction when she put the safety on after about 100 rounds - you could...
Re: Gun Safe Lock question
When I bought my safe I had a long conversation with the dealer about electronic versus mechanical locks. As with anything else, life is full of little trade-offs, but the basic jist was that, while you can wear out keypads and have electronic glitches with...
Re: Flashlight for home and carry
I take a more pragmatic approach to flashlight selection - over 100 lumens and on sale. I usually stick with Streamlight or Surefire if I can, but I have found some high-quality aluminum Flashlights with O rings for as little as $20 from on-line battery...

I did that once. Just wait until you start collecting holsters...
Re: NF NXS Zero Stop
Maybe I'm missing something, but re-centering the optic won't necessarily be anywhere close to aligned with the bore, so why wouldn't you just boresight it and then adjust zero as necessary when and as you get your load(s) developed?
Re: The "Big Fix"
Good thing that worked for them. Their next step would probably have been to put a hinged gate on one side or maybe a flip-up scope mount. It is shocking what passes as "workmanship" and "gunsmithing" at times these days.
Nice job on the repair, and I always look forward to...
Re: Nikon Optics Customer Service
Reminds me of the time I ordered replacement brushes for an angle grinder. There was one toll-free number for east of the Mississippi, and one for the west. The brushes were something like $0.75 each, but shipping was close to $10, so I figured I may as well...
Re: Low recoil 110 gr. projectile in .308 - questions
If the V-max doesn't work out, you might try some Sierra Pro-Hunters or Hornady hollow points. I've had poor luck with V-max's in my 30-06 and several .270s. While not exactly what you are planning, I'm running 110 Pro Hunters out of 3...
Re: Need help w/ ring height
I have gotten into the habit of using stacked quarters or even clay to put the scope on the rifle where I want it, both vertically and longitudinally, checking for barrel, base, and bolt clearance, and then measuring the thickness of the clay or spacers. Then I...
Re: Mite Trouble?
YHM was very good about solving a problem caused by others for me, and I suggest following their advice. My class III has nothing but good things to say about how they have helped him with various problems (like the Mite he sheared the threaded end of the baffle stack off...
Re: YHM Phantom 7.62 Question
Just wanted to reinforce what others have said - let the teeth hold it. If you torque it on it can be very difficult to remove after you've shot for awhile. And, as noted, removing the spring clip is the easy way to remove the can from the QD mount if it is too...
Re: inch/Lb torque wrench
Not sure what you mean by "doesn't cost a lot." Good tools aren't cheap but are a good value. I have a Borka and like it. Reviews on the FAT seem mixed. There have been a number of threads on this, so you might try searching if you haven't already done so.

Sounds like Yoda turned dissident.
Re: Good 22 pistol
The Walther can be fun, but mine is picky about ammo unless I have the can on it (which is most of the time, so not a big issue, but that does run the purchase price up a bit) and I've had problems with the hammer following the slide at times - seems to be related to how...
