    Re: Scout Rifles / Practical Rifles Personally don't really believe in the scout concept. Maybe shooting one will change that, but... I doubt that. Scouting... I'd take a semi-auto. Boltguns are for snipers and with semi accuracy where it is today, a scout doesn't need one, I think.

    Re: WTF happened to this muzzle break? Doesn't the first baffle have a larger diameter hole, by a tiny amount? I once read that it improves effectiveness of the brake to do that. In that case, there isn't as much sealing effect and thus not as much erosion? Just guessing.

    Re: Best Beginner Caliber. I'll vote .308. Simple, widely available, and can grow with you a long ways. You don't even need to start out with match ammo. Ammo half the price of it will allow you to get twice the trigger time and get better. And there's plenty of decent cheap .308 available.
