    made some rimfire steel

Re: made some rimfire steel I just use 1/4 & 3/8" steel. They both work good from 50 on out. Just don't forget & try to shoot something bigger at them. A 22mag will put a hole in 1/4" at 50 yds!

    Savage Mark 2 TR

Re: Savage Mark 2 TR Country life has it's perks Old Salt! Both of the boys live near Jacksonville. I have been spending a little time with the trusty ol' chain saw cutting a shooting lane through a grove of trees. I'll be able to reach 200 yds, & at least 100 of it will not catch too much...

    Savage Mark 2 TR

Re: Savage Mark 2 TR Nice rifle Old Salt! I have a EGW 20 MOA rail on mine, along with a Sight Mark 4-16X44 scope & .990 EGW rings. I rarely have time to shoot much lately, & when I do have the time The wind is blowing. But I do enjoy my MKII TR. I have one in .17 HMR & recently put a TR...

My experience with Joe Bob Outfitters

Re: My experience with Joe Bob Outfitters After placing four or five orders with Joe Bob's I have nothing but good things to say about their service. I only wish half of the folks I do business with were as good as Joe Bob's are.

Suppressors Some Rock Island Armory 1911 Love (w/pics)

Re: Some Rock Island Armory 1911 Love (w/pics) You won't catch any flack from me Mtneer. I bought a RIA GI about three years ago & built it into a "Tactical". While my gunsmith had it, building & installing some new sights I found a factory Tactical in the local gunshop. I bought that one...

how to get the most of out a remington 597

Re: how to get the most of out a remington 597 Trental has the right idea. Check all of the things he listed & I'll bet you will find one or more applys to your rifle. My 597 is the synthetic stock model. I don't really know how many rounds I've run through it, but it has to be close to...

    Anyone purchased from PV lately?

Re: Anyone purchased from PV lately? The folks at PV are great. Luckly I can drive there in about 20 minutes. They are usually on the phone or taking orders on line every time I stop by. I just hang around untill my order is filled then head back home.

Picked up a new toy (pic) UPDATE (2/17)

Re: Picked up a new toy (pic) Nice rifle SBS. I see that you can shoot it very well. I love my FV. First came the work on the Accu Trigger, then the EGW 20 MOA rail & a WOTAC scope, then the Boyds tactical stock. Funny thing about that trigger, I did some work to it following the plan over at...

    .17 HMR

Re: .17 HMR Thanks to SBS, I bought a .17 HMR. I opted for the Savage TR. Due to the weather & work I don't have a lot of time with it yet, but that will change soon. It shoots flat to 150 yds, & I'm waiting to take it out further when I get the chance. My personal range goes to 485 yds. That...

remington 552 speedmaster from the 70's?

Re: remington 552 speedmaster from the 70's? I bought mine new in 1972. The thing still shoot's & works as well as it did back then. My old eyes aren't as good with the iron sights as they were so long ago, but I have resisted the urge to install a scope so far.

    heavy barrel .22lr?

Re: heavy barrel .22lr? I have been very happy with my Savage rifles. MKII F, MKII FV, TRR & TRR 17HMR. The accu-triggers are pretty good, but I have changed the FV & .17 to the Rifle Basix trigger. I also replaced the FV stock with the Boyd's TRRith a RB trigger to be added in a few weeks...

Re: Need a new 22lr, so help a brotha out. The Savage TR is worth the money. If you are looking that direction don't be afraid to buy one.
