    Lapua new brass runout

Re: Lapua new brass runout Oh yeah. The glove application method sounds good. Sometimes I use the Imperial for body sizing lube, but use a piece of cloth. Gloves sound better.

    Lapua new brass runout

Re: Lapua new brass runout Sizing down question - The new brass has a .288 OD. I am using the .287. Soon as I am happy with the bushing size, I will get the Ti. I put a light coat of Imperial inside, b\c the die is new and I cleaned the factory protection lube off with brake cleaner. Usally...

    Lapua new brass runout

Re: Lapua new brass runout I don't consider going from .001 to .008 low run out.

    Lapua new brass runout

Or how to prevent it when getting the neck dents out of new 6.5x47 Lapua brass. Runout before running the expander ball thru is .001-.003. After .005 to .008. Using Redding S FL with 287 bushing. Lubed the cases with One Shot, the necks (inside and out with Imperial). Lubed the bushing and...

    LR 308 buttstock

Putting together a DPMS LR-308 in 6.5x47. Decided on the Magpul PRS stock. The description read that it goes on an A1/A2 buffer tube, which surprised me. Figured since the buttstock was just for AR10/LR308 that the buffer tube would be special too. The big question is, are buffers...

    Removing Doughnut

Re: Removing Doughnut Is 6.5L a doughnut maker? Victors link to MSC is broke. Wonder if the K&M carbide pilot will fit on a sinclair?

    Removing Doughnut

I have a sinclair neck turner. I know of the K&M carbide fluted mandrel. Not sure if it will fit on a sinclair holder. So, what methods are available for removing the doughnut after neck turning for those that have a sinclair neck turner or maybe something that will work with a forester trimmer?

    Redding S Type ?

Re: Redding S Type ? I read it. Sounds like what my problem is. I have concluded its not the shoulder making the cases stick. I went to the range yesterday. I chambered every round before I left with out any sticking, and I had two stick (before firing) at the range. I figured it was the heat...

    Reload Testing Methods

Re: Reload Testing Methods To alleviate the accuracy error risk, I do a side by side ladder test. Meaning I load two sets of 10 rounds in .5 increments. I bought a roll of construction paper at Home Depot. Make horizontal lines every 2 inches. Make 2 vertical lines 1.5 ft apart. Write the 2...

    Redding S Type ?

Re: Redding S Type ? Not being able to open the bolt happens too often. After firing I measure the shoulder at 2.30. I bump the shoulder back to 2.95, and they still get stuck. I hope this body dies puts that aggravation to an end. I annealed all my 300wm in hopes that will help with my...

    Redding S Type ?

Re: Redding S Type ? I decided to go with the neck and body die. I have trouble getting my Hornady FL die set to do resize and bump the correct amt, so I want to bump shoulder and neck size in two steps. Hope this combo will get me there. Also, got the Wilson seater die. Thanks for the help.

    Kestrel wind meters

Re: Kestrel wind meters At risk of hijacking this thread to discuss how to correctly input atmospheric pressure into FTE, I have an FTE question. The FTE knows the "barometric" pressure, and your altitude. I am sure it can calculate "station" pressure. So, FTE has 2 settings "Enable...

    Kestrel wind meters

Re: Kestrel wind meters Since you can get the barometric pressure from the FTE (pressure is consistent over a local area), why not just use this Caldwell wind meter http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ZAA021-1.html for $40, and input that into the FTE? Just asking.

    Gunsmithing adjusting Timney trigger

Would like to adjust my Timney trigger (rem700) down about a pound. It is at the factory setting. The web site said the adjustment was the hex screw at the rear of the trigger. There are two adjustment screws in the front. Anyone adjusted their Timney Rem 700 trigger, and how did you do it?
