Lost on what to for my first precision rifle

I’ll try to give him a call Monday and see when it’d be available. Building seems simple if you already have a barreled action. Thanks for all of you help. Really sounds like the keystone with origin is the way to go here.

Lost on what to for my first precision rifle

So buy the barreled action, or the two separate? Seems like Howa is also popular. Anyone had experience with the tikkas and howa and can compare the two?

Lost on what to for my first precision rifle

Yeah I’d like at least a 24 or 26. No plans for a suppressor at the moment.

Lost on what to for my first precision rifle

So I watched some videos with assmplying a barreled action and a trigger on a bravo and am amazed at how simple it is. The keystone button prefit is with the bighorn origin, right? Keystone looks like they are OOS at the moment. Is origin/button better than the trued 700/Bartlein? Pretty...

Lost on what to for my first precision rifle

Yeah I just want to make sure because I don’t see many dealers with it, and can’t find a upc or model number on MPA’s website to confirm it’s the current model.

Is this the exact same model? Not an older edition or something? Surprised it is $200 cheaper than straight from MPA.

Lost on what to for my first precision rifle

I did see their rebates. Apparently if you get a tac a1, you can do the $75 rebate and free magazine rebate, which is pretty tempting. Well I’d really love to stay closer to $1k, I’m just saying there is no way I’m going above 2.

Lost on what to for my first precision rifle

Thanks everyone for the replies. How easy is it to put parts like these together? I know a lot about assembling ARs, but haven’t tried bolt actions before. Is that setup going to be a huge step up for a HMR pro or tac a1? How would the Howa compare to the Bergaras or tikkas? The HCR is a step...

Lost on what to for my first precision rifle

So I’ll just preface by saying that I know this question has been asked a billion times, and I’m pretty sure I ready through every thread I could find. I’m still lost and am looking for some guidance. So I have an Athlon Ares ETR, and I was planning on putting it on a PSA AR10 in 6.5...

Rifle Scopes Athlon Midas TAC or upgrade to Ares ETR?

Yeah I looked at the optikas but couldn’t find a reticle I liked. The have a 6.5cm reticle but I’d prefer Moa. The budget is kind of relative. It’s not an expensive or top of the line ar10, though one day I may try to change out the barrel and make other changes to improve accuracy. My...

Rifle Scopes Athlon Midas TAC or upgrade to Ares ETR?

Spoke to him earlier. Was great and very helpful. Going to order it through him once I make up my mind. Still unsure what to though! Just looking for some other opinions

Rifle Scopes Athlon Midas TAC or upgrade to Ares ETR?

So I know this has been asked before, but any previous threads I find comparing these two scopes involves a lot of .22s. I’m trying to decide which scope I should go with. No dealers locally that carry them so I have to order sight unseen. I’m trying to decide between the Midas tac or the ares...

Help deciding on a mount and scope level

Currently looking at Bobro dual lever mount and badger ordinance unimount. How do these compare to the vortex mounts?

Help deciding on a mount and scope level

Hi all! I recently purchased the Vortex Viper PST Gen II 3-15x44 FFP MOA, and I just want to make sure that I choose the right mount for it. I am using it for an 18" Daniel Defense V7 Pro for precision shooting up to 500 yards. I had chosen the Vortex Precision QR Extended Cantilever Mount...

Rifle Scopes Trying to decide on the right scope for a DMR/SPR

Wow, I had not read about that feature for the Zeiss V4. With that knowledge, I think I may actually go with the Zeiss. Out of curiosity, what mount are you using for your V6? For the zeiss, it has a capped windage turret, so do you just hold over for wind, or remove the cap and adjust the...

Rifle Scopes Trying to decide on the right scope for a DMR/SPR

Yeah that V4 is very tempting. I would definitely get it if it was in FFP, but the fact that it is FFP is making me still lean toward the PST. What do you think of the Vortex Precision Extended Cantilever Mount? They have one that appears to be made by seekins and one made by ADM.

Rifle Scopes Trying to decide on the right scope for a DMR/SPR

That being said, what would your choice be? I have heard some complain about the tracking in the vipers, but i am not sure how they compare in glass quality to the SWFA SS? The SHV and V4 are also very tempting, but both are in SFP and i would prefer FFP. I really don't know what to choose. The...

Rifle Scopes Trying to decide on the right scope for a DMR/SPR

It's more just range shooting and 300-400 yard shooting with friends on private property. No plans to enter any competitions, and I don't have any available ranges over 500 yards that are within a reasonable drive. If I did end up doing any type of 1000 yard shooting, I would likely get a...

Rifle Scopes Trying to decide on the right scope for a DMR/SPR

Hi! New member to the forum and first time posting. Trying to figure out the right optic for my Daniel Defense V7 Pro. It has an 18” heavy barrel on it. It’s designed for 3 gun, so I put a Primary Arms 1-6x24 Gen III on it. However, I don’t really run competitions, it’s mostly a range gun. I...
