    Builders vs. Assemblers

and if i could say so, they have some pretty original ideas as well. i'm a big fan of their CQB Comp. it's bulky, but it's very effective. and easy to clean!!! if it were a LITTLE bit smaller, i'd have one on the latest rendition of one of my rifles

i wondered how long it would take for a knock off...

and BTW, the Seekins has a lower droop in the front. the leading edge of the magwell is about in line with the trigger guard, this one isn't as funny. http://www.aacblog.com/wp-content/uploads/seekins2-600x400.jpg

i wondered how long it would take for a knock off...

i've seen a couple Seekins lowers that were marked by other companies. i mean, SEEKINS. these were made by Seekins, and marked by others. who knows, maybe thats the case with this one. besides, it's a goofy aesthetic, and i'd think a harder reload. the best design, IMHO, is the ones from either...

    Builders vs. Assemblers

and while i haven't done anything AR10 specific, i've made a few muzzle brakes, i designed up a trigger guard for AR15's and had 20 of 'em cut by a local waterjet company (then i decided to all but scrap 'em in favor or lowers with built in trigger guards, so i gave em away), and i made my own...

    GAPrecision GAP10 or LaRue OBR?!?!

i'd go GAP-10, just because i've never handled an OBR, and i wasn't overly impressed with the PredatAR i did shoot. the GAP-10 though, i blasted 100 rounds through one yesterday, and out to 600 yards i was averaging 1/2 MOA, and i'm not a trained shooter! it was EASY to hold a 4" group at 600...

POF versus LWRC - help me decide

not owning either, i have a POF ambi ar-15 lower i'm building, and i love the parts. i also have a LWRC upper on a pistol (sbr in waiting) and it's great. now, i like the non-reciprocating side-charging handle of the REPR. i think that's the #1 think i like on the REPR. i was helping a...

Rifle Scopes Optics help for a noob

i'm a noob too, which is why i went with the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP for my first long range scope. so far, i'm loving it. and i didn't have to rob anyone to get it! if you want the USO, you'll love it. although i've never played with one, they seem to get the bestest reviews. i have...

Rifle Scopes what are your favorite low power scopes?

yeah, that's what i'm really leaning to. however, i'll have to sell something before i can spend that much cash. anyone interested in a couple of kids?

Rifle Scopes what are your favorite low power scopes?

i haven't officially committed yet, but i've been planning a Vortex PST 1-4X24 scope for the rifle i'm finishing shortly. if i can swing it, i'll go with the Razor HDII in 1-6x even though it's a tank. i'm going to have a Vortex (AMD) mount, but are there any other scopes in the <$1k range i...

does anyone have any experience with a short(er) bbl with long handguard?

well, the bbl's been ordered. that's about all i could hope for right now. Atomic Tactical offered me an "oops" they had, the 14.5" bbl had a problem with the pinning, screwed up the threads, so it was turned down to 14" and threaded. however, that 1/2" less put the OAL of the bbl to a whopping...

Wait time for JP Enterprise rifles

i don't know what the current wait time is, but i can say it's worth it!!! however, i'm a little bothered by the fact that you fellas are ordering them with UBRs and are getting other stocks. if JP can't ship the correctly ordered rifle, they should CONTACT you before deciding to make a change...

Do All AR15 Lowers Accept Both Commercial and Mil Spec Buffer Tubes?

another vote for MilSpec. i'm a cheap-o and i can always find used MilSpec stocks for good prices. commercial, however, not so much

does anyone have any experience with a short(er) bbl with long handguard?

yeah... i'm the owner of the FIRST STD. my friend Jim makes them, and if you've seen photos of them in action on AR pistols, that's me pulling the trigger. i reported to my wife when Jim first gave me an STD, she was concerned. it works great, and i'm not gonna get rid of it, but i want a comp...

does anyone have any experience with a short(er) bbl with long handguard?

thanks for the heads-up. i'll definately have a handstop, i'm working on a design. also, regarding the comp pinning, i'll do it myself. or, i should say, ill have my roommate do it using my TIG that i've not yet figured out. i'm not certain i'll even go with the Rainier. i'm also trying to...

does anyone have any experience with a short(er) bbl with long handguard?

i'm looking to swap a 14.5" pinned bbl onto one of my rifles, and keeping my 15" Troy Battlerail. i'm looking for some constructive criticism on what works and what i should avoid. i haven't swapped the bbl yet, but i've got a line on a Spikes 14.5 FN CHF M249 spec bbl to make a new "go-to"...

    Gunsmithing Muzzle Brake Options

Re: Muzzle Brake Options the tap-and-die method won't work well. i tried that on my Mosin Nagant, and the threads were WAY too loose. also, i had the barreled action in a lathe and turned the diameter down a bunch, and threaded it in the lathe. the only way to fix the brake where i wanted was...
