    F T/R Competition Savage FTR 308 win

No insult intended but if your getting inconsistent results day to day, have you tried videotaping yourself while you shoot and then reviewing the tape for Breathing, Hand position, Body position, ect?

    Gunsmithing Normal AR bolt wear?

With the AR your barrel is screwed into a barrel extention that has the lug recesses cut into it. What your seeing is a barrel that was screwed into the extention a bit to deeply and the front face of your lugs are rubbing on the back of the barrel. So long as the rifle functions and feeds...

Gunsmithing Winchester M70 CRF caming lever in safety

JCann - This is a trigger issue, the broken safety is from forcing the bolt open. I suspect that there is interference from the bedding that is putting pressure on the trigger/sear and allowing the firing pin to drop when you close the bolt. This is why you can't get it to reproduce the...

    Gunsmithing Extreme spread ?

If you've got it down to 60FPS extreme spread your doing alot of things right. Next step: neck turning. Your neck tension is more sensitive with the smaller calibers. You can pick up a used drill press for $30 bucks and mount up a collet prett easily.

Gunsmithing Weird Ideas for optic mount ptr91

PTR 91 has the barrel spot welded to the receiver HK style. Big waste of time unless you can rebarrel to a better tube. Ad for the AK style side rail. Go for it. Resale value is an issue though. Take pictures.

Gunsmithing Speccing AR10 barrel: Gain twist, taper?

Okay I'll bite: 1) There's no reason to use a gain twist barrel. There's no advantage in accuracy, durability, or cool factor... 2) For a 16" barrel, You don't need a straight taper. Just grab one off the shelf, take it out and shoot it. Then you'll know how heavy a barrel you'll want in order...

Gunsmithing (newb) Advice on two 308 chamber options please

Your handloading anyway so a "match" chamber isn't important. Just make certain that the chamber is cut straight with the bore and keep shooting until the barrel melts...

Gunsmithing Please Help a Student Out - Receiver Drilling

Carolina Shooter wrote: *It seems to me this fixture has inherent design flaws based on the false premise that receiver holes should be lined up with the outer barrel contour. Am I off base here?* Nope. You're dead on target. The sight base holes should be on the receiver centerline. The...

    tactiacool stock

As stated above I also have one on my Savage 93. It works but isn't quite as nice as i'd like. I little grinding with a 4" and some 36 grit will recontour where I want it. I like it and it's worth the $ if you not sure about vertical grip stocks. You'll need a cheekpiece if you're going to run...

    AR15 Platform....which brand/model ?

A few thoughts: Both H&K and Sig have put significant R&D into their designs so if you have a problem, the factory will be able to fix it. If you plan to reload, forget about the H&K, unless it doesn't have the fluted chamber. Enjoy.

Gunsmithing Need to pick you guy's brains?

Re: Need to pick you guy's brains? *I have a CZ 455 on the way. I was mostly thinking this would be a nice project, and could increase the accuracy of the rifle. I was also going to add a larger diameter barrel. At 25yds the thing is a tack driver, but even at 50yds I lose my groups...
