I am considering using a boyds tacticool stock on my upcoming .22 build. However the action is slightly modified so the standard stock won't exactly work. So my question is if I were to buy an unfinished stock for the Savage MKII models if there a filler that I could fill in the action screw holes and magazine and trigger inlets with, and then re-inlet for my action? Any ideas would be appreciated! Seems like Chad Dixon does this with his stocks. I was thinking maybe fiberglass resin thickened with saw dust or some kind of auto body filler such as bondo? Thanks guys!

This has been done before. Depending on how much you need to rework it. just glue in a hardwood plug and redrill...

Also found an article somewhere about a guy that glued in some pipe sections and pillarbedded his savage 93.

Take pictures.
