I saw it over the weekend. It was entertaining. My family always chides me when I yell TRIGGER when I see fingers where they shouldn't be...
Re: Reloading, Step by Step
I'll lube, resize, and trim if needed. After that I 'bathe' the brass in rubbing alcohol. That gets all the lube off as well as any brass filings, and residual gunk. Let'em dry and start filling them up.
Re: depriming
I like using a dedicated depriming die; I've broken enough pins and subsequently been 'off-line' that the $25.00 investment has paid for itself several times over.
Just an FYI: The pins I've busted were RCBS. I gave their customer service number a call and in a couple of days...
Re: Loading cheap rounds for 223 worth it?
If my calculations are correct, I'm at about $00.18 per round; I use range brass, or whatever I pick up when we have a get together in the desert; get about 300 rnds per 1lb of A2230, and my last 1k of bullets cost $88.00; Winchester SRP.
I haven't...
Any of you guys familiar with the Adams Arms piston system?
Yesterday while cleaning my RRA AR15 I starting thinking how nice a piston driven rifle would be. It seems like a nice way to go.
One thing I wonder is how to mount my sling: Magpul has this product that I could clip to.
Re: SD Round for 5.56/.223
Thanks for the input guys.
As a follow up to this discussion, I found this webpage that provides a pretty good source of information on a variety of calibers
Re: H4895 w/ 168 vlds in .308
I just tried H4895 in my 5R for the first time yesterday at the range and was pleased with the performance; I was using a 168 SMK. Hundred yard groups were close to 1/2 moa. For me, that's a gas.
The three loads I used and the average chrono speed were:
41 gr...
Re: Reloading Military Brass
I process a fair amount of 5.56 brass It takes a little more work that's for sure.
First step is to de-prime with a dedicated depriming die. I use the RCBS on my RockChucker II. Once the primer is knocked out I use a Lyman Pocket Uniformer as go no-go tool as...

I've been seeing mention of the MK318 Round from Federal; apparently recently adopted by the Marines. It uses a 62 grain bonded bullet.
Haven't been able to find just the projectile from this round. Does anyone know if it's even available? I contacted Federal, but haven't heard back.
Bottom...

Re: Does any one have a 26" 5R 1:11.2" barrel?
I have one with a 24" barrel. It seems to like 42.5 grains of Varget with either 168 or 175 SMK HP. There are tons of posts here as Gunderstorm mentions-
