    Mosin Scopes on ebay

I like them all but was looking at ammo availability so thought the PU would be a good place to get my feet wet in the Vintage matches. Plus give me a good loaner for friends. But right off the hassle with widners so I ordered the swede from Samco. I'll post a pic when it all comes together...

    Mosin Scopes on ebay

I agree about CA but in this case Widners will not ship to an 01 FFL an 03 yes. Here is where CA steps in saying all rifles must go thru a 01 so an 03 can't pick one up for me. Is AIM going to be any different? Have you heard anything bad about these?

    Mosin Scopes on ebay

That would be perfect and thanks for the info except Widners will not ship them to 01 FFLs in CA and 03 C&Rs are prohibited from reselling as of 1-1-14 in the wonderful PRC!

    Mosin Scopes on ebay

Thanks Mike, I was looking around for a complete rifle. Heard about the $5-600 ones from AIM but was a bit late. Only ones I can find now are from Rguns at $800 and the description there vs what I read of the AIM lot is a lot less desirable sounding for $2-300 more. On the other hand there are a...

    Mosin Scopes on ebay

Anyone shed light on the quality of the Mosin scopes from UK or Russia on ebay. I am totally ignorant in this area but some of the recent threads have got me interested. Lots of listings and pretty complete but are they decent or faked copies?

Hornady vs. Sierra Data for .308

To me primers starting to flatten is a pressure sign especially if the manufacturers data says I am near max. The different manuals use data from totally different test subjects comprised of totally different mixes of components. What would surprise me is if they matched. The Hornady SST has a...

Hornady vs. Sierra Data for .308

Doesn't matter, They are all just guidelines. If you are seeing pressure signs stop and figure out what is going on. You are talking about two very different rifles it is highly unlikely that the chambers are throated the same. You will not likely get one load to be optimum in both. A 180 being...

    100 Years ago today

I would propose that rather than " tried to let soldiers die to save ammo" That the US military in general and particularly its procurement entities are the same as any massive bureaucracy. They crunch numbers to maintain a balance sheet. The physical impact on the working end of the...

MOA of the Vietnam era rifles?

M40A1 has your answer dead on. All the M70s I saw in country were box stock and of all the match conditioned M14s I ever encountered I never saw a consistant 1 minute or better rifle with M118. M40s with M72 or M118 about the same story I would surmise. (no personal experience with M40s)...

How many rounds through a 300wm before....

Re: How many rounds through a 300wm before.... 1000-1200 not a bad ballpark but as has been said it depends what your expectation is and how you set up in the beginning. if your shooting bullseye you'll get less than if your ringing steel. If you set up for shorter or tangent ogive bullets...

    Variation in load data?

Re: Variation in load data? even if two different manuals are using ghe "same" components. Throw in the differences cause by different makes of brass, types of primers Kevin, I thought cases and primers were "components" (lol) even twist rate would have some pressure effect.
