    243 AI 75gr V-Max load data

Re: 243 AI 75gr V-Max load data samson, I shoot the 75gr V-Max in my 243AI for varmint hunting. I've tried W760, which is nearly identical to H414, and couldn't get great accuracy with it. I didn't run the entire range of charge weights, but focused on 47-48.5 gr, with the 48.5 load pushing...

Rifle Scopes Leupold rings on picatinny base?

Re: Leupold rings on picatinny base? Thanks for the confirmation guys. Humble, the Warne rings look good, but I'm not sure I would like the design. Having to remove the entire ring from the base to get a scope off doesn't seem like a superior design. Since I have never used them, is...

Rifle Scopes Leupold rings on picatinny base?

Do any of you guys know for certain if the Leupold QRW or PRW rings would fit on a Picatinny rail? Long story why I ask, but it basically involves giving me some flexibility to swap scopes between rifles.

    IMR 4350 vs H4350

Re: IMR 4350 vs H4350 Not sure if this has any relevance for you, but here is what I experienced in a custom 7-08. I started with IMR and moved to H for the following reasons: - I had a very accurate and stable load with IMR, however it was a bit slow even though I was near max charge. The...

    44 Mag rifle load

Re: 44 Mag rifle load For hotter loads using the heavy bullets, stick with H110 or W296. I just got done loading a bunch of rounds for my Blackhawk using the 240's and W296. Powder was clean burning and quite accurate. Be careful though, as there is only ~1gr difference from min to max on...

Rifle Scopes Very little mention of Mk4 4.5-14x50,Why??

Re: Very little mention of Mk4 4.5-14x50,Why?? Great scope and very versatile with the TMR reticle. I use mine for both hunting and LR shooting and only once during a match was I wishing I had more power. If you are planning to use it for shooting small targets (e.g. prarie dogs at 600yds)...

    RCBS Customer Service

Re: RCBS Customer Service I did something similar with a RCBS sizing die. I didn't lube the case enough and ended up ripping the case apart near the case head. The rest was stuck in the die. I sent it to them and asked if they could remove the case and bill me for the work. They sent me a...

    Gunsmithing Cerakote application questions

Re: Cerakote application questions Rij, I'm going to use a HVLP gravity fed touch up gun that runs off a compressor. My brother has a really good one with several different nozzles that he uses for his antique cars. From my discussions with Greg, an airbrush can be used but it will take...

    Gunsmithing Cerakote application questions

Re: Cerakote application questions Thanks gents, especially to Greg for taking the time to have a call. This has been very helpful. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go for the ambient cure Cerakote. I don't have an oven that can handle the entire barreled action and don't really feel like...

    Gunsmithing Cerakote application questions

Guys, I'm getting ready to shoot my barreled action with some Cerakote and had a couple questions before I jump right in. - I'm leaning towards the ambient cure version, but is it worth the extra hassle to go with the heat cure version? I'm not too concerned about waiting longer for it to...

    7 Rem Mag - 7 WSM - 7-08

Re: Loads for 7 Rem Mag-7 WSM-7-08 Taco, any further testing with the H380? I'm currently using IMR4350, but thinking about switching to get above 2800fps. Isn't H380 known to be temp sensitive?

Powder Dispenser, "The Best" Harrels or???

Re: Powder Dispenser, "The Best" Harrels or??? At $1100, I'll pass and buy more powder. I'm sure it's a kickass system and extremely well built, but what good is measuring to within 1 particle of powder if you can't hold that margin of error on everything else? Besides, who can really see a...

    7 Rem Mag - 7 WSM - 7-08

Re: Loads for 7 Rem Mag Sorry, I should have specified. I was using H4831SC. Highest I went was 64.0 gr pushing the 175 SMK and got 2870 fps. Respectable, but RL-25 got me slightly over 3000 fps before I hit pressure.

    7 Rem Mag - 7 WSM - 7-08

Re: Loads for 7 Rem Mag I tried H4831 in my 7RM. Accuracy was good, but velocity sucked. I dropped it as an option pretty quickly.
