Well, seems to me like this is a great American... not a perp!

I see. So since our system isn't perfect, you favor wiping your ass with our Constitution and pursuing anarchy?

Well, seems to me like this is a great American... not a perp!

When the beat down happened there was no longer an imminent threat being stopped. It was retribution. Ie, taking the law into one's own hands. The law is pretty clear on the consequences for this. Just because someone is a turd, does not give a private citizen the right to act as jury and...

    Movie Theater 12 Strong

I watched it on a flight; happened to have the book in my pack, haven't read it yet. I enjoyed the movie, I have no idea how historically accurate it is.

    Go to Prefits?

Have several prefits from Shilen...zero complaints, excellent accuracy with minimal fouling. Same with McGowan. Put me on the podium in a 2000yd match with a 338.

Range Report Best Caliber for 140-150gr 6.5mm bullets?

6.5mm IS a caliber. As to what CARTRIDGE/CHAMBERING is best to suit your needs, your described uses don't sound awfully competitive or demanding, so most likely will suffice.

    Photos Back yard range

No pics, but I currently have an indoor shooting house (some A/C and heat) built inside my barn which shoots out over a 30 yard pistol range. Whenever I get a berm up, it has the capability to transform into a 300 yard rifle range as well. My main shooting position is a 300 yard outdoor rifle...

    New Truck

I can't complain much about the Chevys in the family, but for minor reasons elected not to go that way. Recently got a 2016 F150 coming off a lease, thus far I am VERY pleased. Traded in my Dodge for it. Couldn't get rid of that truck fast enough. I've never poured so much cash into a...

    Matched bolt and barrel.......Important?

It's peace of mind to know that the headspace has been checked. Lots of people assume that they don't have to check headspace when they build ARs. One of them had a case rupture from excessive headspace on my range doing that while I was standing next to him. Kinda wish he'd told me what he...

Solid beginner's bolt gun for learning shoot long range?

Thank you for the hard numbers. So the difference is a rounding error until actual skill becomes the leveling factor. Beyond 850 yards, all of these rounds pale to the 7mms, if we are gating on wind drift. In fact my 284 will shoot inside any of these numbers at 600.

Solid beginner's bolt gun for learning shoot long range?

"Semi-locally we have the CMP marksmanship park that goes out to, IIRC, 600m. My private property I might can come up with a 300m lane but the hills & trees make it harder." A little reading comprehension goes a long way, skippy. OP doesn't appear to often have access to 300m, with 600m max.

Solid beginner's bolt gun for learning shoot long range?

Threads like this amuse me. I don't shoot PRS, someone please tell me, what is the drift difference between 308 and 6.5CM at 600 yards in a 10mph wind, and how relevant is that on PRS targets? I can tell you in F-class, lots of FTR shooters out-shoot Open shooters with 284s. Experience and...

Improving a Remington 700 hunting rifle?

    1) Bed the rifle in the stock of choice, either factory or aftermarket. 2) Add a good trigger. For most factory rifles, you will get a good read at this point. 3) If fouling is an issue (frequent with Remington factory barrels) consider a Tubbs treatment or a new barrel. I have a 300WM that...

    Sick of my FFL

Often they are doing you a painful favor. There is a reason some charge more for tranfers from certain sources (Bud's). It's because they requently encounter issues which consume a lot of their time, putting them under water on time vs the fee they charge. The FFL I use does well by me...

    243

I'm skeptical your rifle has the twist for the heavier bullets. I don't know, but it would be awfully uncommon for an older factory rifle to have an 8 twist.

    Asshole neighbors

Lots of issues with one neighbor over >decade. Country-ish, each of us owns 15 acres, rest of short street 1-2 acre lots. They let their dogs run loose, I had tons of issues with them coming into my garage (150 yards from their place) and carrying stuff off. Coming over and attacking my...

    44 rem mag rifle

I use either H110 or AA2400 and the 240gr XTP for deer hunting with the 44 out of a rifle. It's an outstanding close range round. I have not shot the 225gr FTX, but I would be a bit concerned that it would get too frangible at rifle velocities. I can say you see a significant difference with...

Daughters AR15, Hunting use, varmints, which one??

If you're up for building yourself, keep the barrel light profile and the handguard minimal. People add weight with quad rails they never use. I build one for my wife, just enough rail to mount a front sight if needed and mlok if more sections are needed. Very light and handy.

    300 win mag? .338 lapua? ... Bergara?

If you have access to a 2000yd range and will shoot past 1700 regularly, performance wise, there is a significant difference between the two in favor of the 338. You will simply hit a lot more frequently, not that the 300 won't get the bullet out there. That said, if you are even worried about...
