SOLD [WTS] Tikka receivers, Stainless and CTR ***SOLD***

T3 or T3x? And presumably long action bolt stop in the stainless, short action in the blued?

    6BR family: Other than Varget?

I second the N140, my 6 BRA fireforming load is 29.6 gr, gets me about 2780 with 105's. N150 also ought to work, but I'd expect 8208 to be too fast for 108's.

    Tikka T3 Thread

Go for a shouldered prefit. No issues with mine, bought from a guy on here and put it on my Tikka action, headspaced just like on his action (fired brass was identical).

    Trouble with the bra

I had a similar issue with a BRA chamber set to BR headspace, documented here and here. I tried loading for a hard jam (0.025" in or so) at a slightly reduced load (29.0 gr N140) and ended up piercing 205M primers. My fireform load had been 29.6 gr which wasn't hot at all so I think this is from...

    Current Best Hand Priming Tool

I had the K&M hand primer with the depth gauge, it was super slow and finicky to use. Got the Frankford Arsenal one and it's way better. And it's cheaper.

Gunsmithing Tikka 300 Win Mag Extended COAL Modifications

If you're running the factory bottom metal and mags, you'll want that tab. There's and XL bolt stop and aftermarket bottom metals like Red Snake Tactical that can get you into long action AICS mags. If you're trying to stick with factory mags you'll be limited though.

It's only the stock that has a larger cutout for the CTR bottom metal, the receivers are the same on the bottom. The ejection port is slightly larger on the T3x's. Edit: I'm wrong.

    Lapua or alpha 6bra brass?

Lots of great reviews from Accurate Shooter on the Alpha brass. But as said above, Lapua is consistently great too, you can't go wrong. FWIW, personally if the Alpha were available after I built my gun that's what I would have started with, just to save some wear on the barrel.

The Woox Furiosa used the factory bottom metal and single stack mags, not sure if it can also for the CTR bottom metal (which is just a bit wider). Though that begs the question if it's properly a chassis.

AR10 Optic Advice: Sig Tango6 or Tract Toric

If you're not concerned about weight, I'd look at the ETR 3-18. https://cameralandny.com/shop/brands/athlon-optics/athlon-optics-ares-etr-3-18x50-aprs6-ffp-ir-mil-uhd-212106/23656310-2254-0139-6d8d-00163ecd2826?variation=2891653 If you want more lightweight, there have been some great deals in...

https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/athlon-ffp-helos-btr-g2-2-12x42-in-hand.7063799/#post-9325857 I haven't been behind the Helos G2, but I've got an ETR which I love.

    12" ish Barrel 6.5 Grendel

Thanks, I only recently found some LVR in stock so I'll be working on that more, hoping to get over 2400 fps. But yeah, this data (in 36 F) is a good match to G7= 0.283, and they've been great on deer. I'm not in a hurry to build an AR pistol given current possible regulation, but I love this round.

    12" ish Barrel 6.5 Grendel

Slightly off topic, but what speeds are you getting (with what load) for the 129 ABLR from a 12"? I'm hardly getting 2300 fps from a 18", using 26.4 gr 8208. I've tried LVR and there's maybe room way over book max but still getting around that speed.

    6bra fire forming

I load N140 at about 29 gr for fireforming with 105's. Not sure how much faster N135 is but I hope that helps.

    Tikka T3 Thread

First, congrats on the Tikka, that will be sweet. Second, try shooting it before going to such lengths to get a brake? Third, if a brake is needed, I agree either get it threaded in another pattern or get a clamp on brake. Edit: You could get this...

    Shit box shooting challenge

Love it. I shot my first PRS style match a few years back and the guy who did best in my squad had a stock Axis, I forget the scope but I doubt it was over $500. Would be a great training tool too, if you can do well with that setup you'll own with a high end setup. I shot USPSA and 3 Gun for...

Lite to Lite? Yeah no prob. CTR into a Lite stock? May need some sanding down.

    My project rifle

Good call on the cartridge. I haven't built one yet but gathering components still. For 180's most people run 0.220" freebore or slightly more. If you're going for no turn Peterson, Norma, or 284 Lapua brass I'd go for dimensions similar to attached.

    What would you build/buy?

I've got largely the same setup for my deer hunting / long range plinking rifle. 18" AA fluted 6.5G barrel, 2-10x Weaver Tactical. Weighs a bit over 9 lb, and maybe 1.5 MOA out to 600 with American Gunner. Not super happy with the accuracy but it's fun and my 129 ABLR loads have been great in...
