All right! You guys got me off my ass and I have received a repair order to send my FNX in to FN. Hope they can get it sorted out, so many things I like about it.
Bob
So I picked up a new FNX (Venom installed) a few weeks ago. So far, I'm not impressed. It was going to be my new nightstand gun but, at this point my Kimber Super Carry Pro will keep that job. I've got over 1000 rounds through the Kimber without ever having a single malfunction with any ammo...
I have always used the Leupold Mark 4 steel rings. They are indestructible and very well toleranced but, they are getting a little outdated in their design (big mounting nuts). For my newest project, I went with a Warne Skyline mount.

On my 6.5CM CTR, I went with the Mountain Tactical you've linked. I chose the 20moa receiver length version. 1" tall rings will work with flip caps and a 50mm front objective lens scope. I'm running Leupold medium rings with a Bushnell XRS which are 1.1" and there's a good bit of clearance at...
This is pretty much what I measured. I got 34.5 total mils of elevation. I also played around with the zero stop and it is dead simple to operate.
One other thing I noticed in comparison to the Bushnell XRS, was the resistance/dampening of the controls. They are just right on the Athlon; not...
I have to admit, it was difficult for me to buy a Athlon. While I am far from being a high end optics snob, I have been hanging out in the Bushnell Elite comfort zone for more than a decade. Truth is, I haven't been shooting for a few years and I'm just getting back into it. I kinda told this...
I installed and adjusted my Timney but, have not had a chance to get the gun back to the range. After doing some dry firing, I think this trigger is going to shrink my groups! I will definitely report back when I get a chance to test it out.
Bob
So...did you get out to test these? Still curious what performed the best. I think I'm going to stick with American Gunner 140's until I'm ready to work up some hand loads.

The internal storage issue for the Samsung Galaxy S9 series has not been fixed. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still can't get it to create a folder. I suspect it is having an issue because my phone (S9+) is set to save all media to the SD card.
Bob
I have decided to save myself some money and give this a try. No illumination.
Athlon Midas TAC 5-25x56 APRS3 FFP MIL HD
Brownells had it in stock and they were offering a 10% off code today so this may just be a excellent score for the money. Of course money was not the only factor; I was...
Lots of info on the 6.5cm (Hunter mostly) but, doesn't look like anybody has reviewed the 6mm creedmoor. I'm looking at either the "Long Range" or the "Precision" model.
Bob
I've been away from any kind of precision shooting for several years and have just been getting some time to start back up over the last couple months. I have a Tikka CTR in 6.5CM that is a good shooter and I'm thinking about signing up for a league at my local range. Currently I'm shooting with...
I have to disagree with this. I know far more about individual weapons now (retired 12 years ago) than I did while I was in the Army. I knew Army weapon systems and that was it! And...I would own a RPR though, for some reason, I always seem to go with something else.
