    .308 w/ IMR 4064 and 175 SMK

Yep. I'm assuming that its due to barrel harmonics.

    .308 w/ IMR 4064 and 175 SMK

I'll report back on Friday, after some more testing. I switched to the Amax to have a better hunting round, and I had a couple hundred of them already....

    .308 w/ IMR 4064 and 175 SMK

41.5 shoots pretty good, its a slow load though. Truthfully, I abandoned the 175 SMK for this rifle and have been working on 178 Amax loads. I save the SMK for my bolt gun now.

.308 Gas Gun load with 175's - Powder Question

    I have good luck with IMR 4064 - start at 41.5 - 42.2

    JP LRP .308 favorite loads

I would look at the Hornady 155 Amax lines over Tac, 8208 XBR, IMR 4064 or Varget 168 SMK/Amax/BTHP over the same, 168 Nosler BT shoot very well too.

    JP LRP .308 favorite loads

This is a great place to start: Loading Recommendations for JP Self-Loading Rifles I have a LRP-07, 18" light contour (basically the hunter with a few upgrades), so far 175 smk's similar to M118 or FGMM work great, as do 168's. I think a better question is what are you wanting to do with...

    Douglas barrels any good?

Douglas barrels are used in the Mk12 rifles Good barrels, you'll be happy.

Rifle Scopes Optics choice for my situation

I own two of these: one on a mk12 with the velocity reticle (which works very, very well if you have a proven load and one on a JP LRP-07 308 with the MOAR reticle. I can't say enough good things about them, great glass, built right, lightweight. They are true performers in their class of...

    Recommended twist for a .308?

All of mine are 1/10 - 18" gas gun and a 26" bolt. They both hold sub MOA using factory FGMM 168, 175 and reloaded 155's just fine. If I could find some 110 grain a-max bullets I'd love to test those as well. . . .

Rifle Scopes Which Nightforce Compact for my use?

The only FFP in the 2.5-10 world, that I know of is a Vortex Viper PST Vortex also offers a 2.5-10 x 44 but it is SFP I personally own a NF NXS 2.5-10 x 32 with the Velocity 600 LV reticle and I can say it works, and works very well... however you really need to have your proven load already...

    308 rifle options

Mine was ordered last Dec amongst the panic, had it in 5 months. Per their website, they are currently 8 - 18 weeks on an LRP-07. My bet is if you ordered a JP, it will show up closer to 8 than 18 weeks.

    308 rifle options

Check out the JP LRP-07 guns. Much shorter wait than GAP and very well made

Looking at AR10 again and need advice.

The nice thing with FFP scopes is that if you have a ranging reticle (Mil dot, NP-1, MOAR, etc) then you don't have to be at full power to use it. So when I'm sitting in my stand watching my food plot on 2.5 power I have full ranging abilities without moving my arms to use turrets or to zoom...

Looking at AR10 again and need advice.

Depends on what you want to do. If you're hunting, those NXS 2.5-10 x 32 or even x 42 are great scopes, super clear, nice field of view and lightweight. Vortex has a comparable 2.5-10 x 32 with FFP/ZeroStop etc for about 2/3 of the NXS price. For paper punching, something in the higher...

    Barrel Suggestions please, I'm Stuck

I have a Rainier Ultra Match 18", a Douglas MK12 18" and a DD 14.5" 1/7 CHF. The Rainier is by far the most precise. The Douglas shoots under 1 MOA no matter how hot it gets. The DD is also a winner, although opens up a litter after it gets hot. Still 1.5 MOA with the 62 gr green tips...
