New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
It’s still adding material regardless of what anyone says. 34.xxxx mm tube in 34mm ring or 30.xxxx mm tube in 30mm ring. Tolerances could be stacking on this one particular set up. Maybe you got a scope tube on the high end of spec and a set of rings on the low end of spec and now you got some...
Duracoat is pretty thick comparatively speaking. If it’s under the rings and or on the rings I could see how you could be pinching the scope tube in a manner or torque spec that it was not designed for. This could be affecting the turret housing / erector assembly.
Anyone out there running straight 6x48 screws for their optic mount?
This is my first rifle where I’ve had only four 6x48 screws holding my rail, rings, and optic on. This particular rifle has no ability to use the rails built in recoil lug.
Am I being a wuss over this or am I asking for...
I dont think it affects light transmission. As far as elevation I think we have enough in current 34mm offerings. What I think will be a side effect of larger tubes will be larger internal components and that might make them easier/cheaper to machine and hopefully slide the price to performance...
Interesting note... Mauser says that this barrel is pressed in however the the front rail screw shows that the barrel is threaded? If that’s the case anyone know a smith crazy enough to rebarrel this for me?
