Did I get ripped off by Optic planet

Holy crap. You got your backordered stuff from Optics Planet in 15 days and you were talking about getting ripped off? I ordered an “in stock” item and didn’t receive it for a month. Didn’t stop them from taking that money, though. Even after phone calls and waiting on hold for a half hour they...

    Using shooting partner as rest

That was it. I didn’t realize there was video of it.

    Using shooting partner as rest

Haha. It was really cold so I suppose the body heat was nice. And it was a pretty stable position so it made sense at the time. Anywhere other than a match where it was required to shoot off your partner and I’d have used a tripod.

    Using shooting partner as rest

We had todo this at the Bushnell match last February. We sat face to face with the shooters legs over top of the non-shooters legs. Non-shooter then leaned forward with head to shooters chest and wrapped his arms around the shooter. Rifle was supported on non-shooters shoulder. Shooter would say...

    Rifle/tripod pack

I have had the Gunslinger 2 and i sold it to get a G3 Phantom. For what you’re describing I would prefer the phantom over the GS2 simply because of the number of straps. The GS2 has two compression straps that go from one side to the other as well as two straps that secure the lid. It’s too much...

Accessories Eberlestock Coyote G3 Phantom *SOLD*

*SOLD* Eberlestock G3 Phantom in coyote brown. Pack has been used a few times for rifle carry but never abused. I used it as a training pack for about a half-dozen rucks and have carried it in a couple of matches and to the range a time or two. It’s a good pack in very good condition. I’ve...

    Chest Rig For Competition???

This is how I had it set up. If it’s high on your chest it doesn’t cause problems in the prone. If you were to slide it down high on your belly or on your belly then it would be a pain, but up on your chest is fine. When in position your support hand is already up, either on the barricade...

    Chest Rig For Competition???

I like the idea of those for being out in the field hunting and such, but I bet an RO in a match would shit a brick if you wore one to a match.

    Chest Rig For Competition???

Wear it up on your chest, not down around your belly. Prone shots still have your chest up off the ground. And I didn’t use pouches that stacked just so they wouldn’t stick out so far. Prone is no trouble with it on. What squad were you in at Sniper’s Unknown?

    Chest Rig For Competition???

I wanted to try this method out. I got an HSGI AO chest rig. From my right to my left I have two pistol tacos, two rifle tacos, and an AR mag pouch that can easily hold my Kestrel and other small stuff. The Kestrel position was important to me because it’ll feed data to the Sig 3000 LRF/binos...

Scope caps - Why flip up rather than to right?

This may be done because of the way the rifle/scope is set up and what caps are being used. I find that if my ocular cap flips to the right it can interfere with the bolt manipulation on two of my rifles. One one of them, opening the objective to the side won’t work because of the NV bridge on...

Anyone know of a ruck with alot of internal molle? Or have an old TAG ruck laying around?

Several of the Mystery Ranch packs have PALS webbing on the back panel inside. And Eberlestocks have PALS webbing on the inside of their opening flap. My Gunslinger II has it and the Phantom I have now has it. Perhaps anything with a radio pouch would work. Put those items in the radio pouch...

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Cardiovascular Perfusionist here. I love seeing that even though I hated my pediatrics rotation. Working on older people who have gotten into their position through their own choices is one thing. Kids with congenital stuff is another. They have their whole lives ahead of themselves. Here is a...

Wanting to Buy - GI Cot or similar.

I have used Sgt. Troys Military Surplus before. I needed some bivy sacks in a hurry and they took care of me. I felt like the prices were good as well https://www.sgttroys.com/genuine-military-issue-folding-cot-tri-fold-usa-made-vg-used/

    Scope height and neck pain.

There has been this idea that your scope has to be as close to your barrel as possible, otherwise the earth will shift on its axis, cats and dogs will lay together, and all your shots will miss by 10 feet at 100 yards. The truth is your scope rings can be any height you want. The height can be...

PRS Talk Advice for New PRS Match Director

Another thing: If you’re planning to start shooting at 0800, go to the range the few mornings prior to match day and see if you can see targets at 0800. Some ranges are completely fogged in at that time and you won’t be able to start until later. If that’s the case, don’t get shooters there at...

PRS Talk Advice for New PRS Match Director

Read your course of fire/stage brief to yourself after you’ve typed it out. Then read it again. Then print it and have another person read it. Make sure you’ve described the targets correctly and you’ve typed the correct par time. That’s so in case you wrote red circles are the targets and not...
